Just saying both OS aren't optimal in terms of multi monitor
that's a retarded setup though
I can't think of any situation where you might want to do that
I used to have that setup many years ago when having both the igpu and a gpu that supports two screens, but have 3 screens in total
10+ years ago it was quite usual for mid range gpus to support two screens only
Maybe it's less common today, but it was more common in past
now any dedicated gpu has at least 3 ports you can connect to
and with DP you only need one
ports do not equal connectable monitors
quite many GPUsonly supported 2 (on windows)
mostly due how the gpu architechture and drivers worked
specialy if you had VGA display connected
oor 2 DVIs and hdmi
you would need to choose what ones to use
these days things are a lot better
to the point you dont even need KVM switches anymore
just daisy chain displayport friend
this still cracks me up
I posted that pic in /csg/ today
@Tervy Seriously? That would be real disappointing. How do I tell if my card only supports 2 without just plugging in more displays?
Phones gonna be triggering trypophobia soon
i mean most modern vidya cards support plenty of displays
you can buy a low end gpu to push like 6 displays if youre not doing gaming or 3d
also one displayport can be daisychained to multiple monitors
@Windatica I assume my cards fine with a shitton of displays, but just wanted to confirm
Also I'm just super sleep deprived today and not really thinking great, because there's no way my card wouldn't do at least 4
Back then nothing
These days check gpus specs if nothing else
@Windatica @timsandtoms it's really not a problem anymore. These days most gpus support more screens. I was talking about 10+ years ago
it not about no. of screen, it about max screen res
display port wasn't available on low/mid gpus back then, so, if the gpu had only two connectors, there was nothing you could do
Also if it had a VGA connector + 2 digital ones, using the VGA connector would usually disable one of the digital connectors
would any of you happen to have experience with yocto
Can anybody help me quick? I've seen you can only go MAX at 1/2 of untwisted wire on cat5. Going longer than that will kill my comms completely or will I just lose so many feet of communication?
can you rephrase that in english
what's a MAX at 1/2 of untwisted
max what
ye
