i met some nips first time i went in 2011. we kept in touch and i saw them last time i went, and seeing them again next week
feels good
Jignx, you might like Dotonbori, it's in Osaka. Street with a bunch of food more or less. I regret not eating more sushi while there just because of the quality/price (fish sucks dick where I'm at)
Nara is a cool little tourist area, though it may be out of the way
There's a shrine with a fuck ton of deer
If you've ever seen videos of deer "bowing" in Japan, it's there (correct me if I'm wrong)
tfw not rich like bunkerbro to buy myself an island (that isn't claimed by china) somewhere in the pacific
i miss the tempura don
okonomiyaki and takoyaki are my fucking jam
i literally dream of takoyaki
I didn't get to try okonomiyaki while there and I will kick myself for it until I go back
so good
there's decent okonomiyaki and takoyaki in NYC but.... tempura man....
missing
somehow.
tfw jianbing in the morning
give me 5 of those, senpai
i had one this morning because we talked about it the other day
does your part of china do yiaotiao and soy milk
Also Jignx, Japan loves to have specialties. Every city has a signature dish, mascot, etc.
Osaka is takoyaki i think? Since that's your first stop, consider trying it
You'll definitely find it on dotonbori
that's another thing that only old chinese elders can make effectively
yeah they do big time, byte
such gud
you probably are used to it but damn man
@kaetaa I'm gonna make some noodles tomorrow, I think. Dunno if this city still has a Chinese restaurant, and I'm a bit autistic about cooking and baking
try the okonomiyaki in each city, jignx. its different everywhere
fuck yeah, tom. hot dry noodle attempt?
i've never had the super thin panckae okonomiyaki
anime
Yeah, I've googled some recipes and I'm going grocery shopping later
where u
making noodles is pretty boss
kaetaa, is there a chinese food you'd recommend trying if someone gets the chance?
There aren't any restaurants where I'm at, but out of town there definitely are
ruu: region matters
hmm. well chinese food and western chinese food are totally different. so, if yo usee some authentic chinese food, id have to say to try soup dumplings. They are like little steamed buns with meat inside and a little soup. so you suck the soup out, and then eat the meat with vinegar
What I absolutely love about Asia (I only visited Chinkapore, though) are the affordable restaurants and great street food, which makes sense since people don't cook that much at home (in Chinkapore you usually work till late)
