at least paper money can be backed by something

2017-09-15 07:10:34 UTC

and I'd rather trust something like the Swiss Franc which has been stable and predictable for a century than some 1s and 0s

2017-09-15 07:11:15 UTC

then in the end, every currency could crash. The point of bit coin is: we know it will inevitably happen

2017-09-15 08:34:36 UTC

ye try getting a bank to prove they have that much money

2017-09-15 09:06:25 UTC

crypto is a fucking joke

2017-09-15 09:07:18 UTC

95% of transactions are drugs/fraud etc

2017-09-15 09:07:22 UTC

it can be tracked

2017-09-15 09:07:28 UTC

chinks artificially inflate it

2017-09-15 10:46:22 UTC

@Tonmonkeyla see monero, verge

2017-09-15 15:43:24 UTC

I'm confused. Why do people keep saying China is futuristic ? Do they mean like dystopian kind of futuristic ?

2017-09-15 15:44:00 UTC

It's moderately modern in the cities, but it's so far from futuristic, I don't know why people keep saying that. I think people equate the future with a million skyscrapers

2017-09-15 15:44:01 UTC

I don't

2017-09-15 15:45:16 UTC

I have never heard this. It's pretty cyberpunk though. Seedy underbelly under a veneer of government control with mega corporations

2017-09-15 15:45:47 UTC

In fact, I'd say Japan and Korea are way more futuristic. They enjoy technology that never got adapted in America, or was too overpriced

2017-09-15 15:46:46 UTC

In serpentza he said Shenzhen is one of the most futuristic cities in the world

2017-09-15 15:46:52 UTC

His most recent video

>following vloggers

2017-09-15 15:48:33 UTC

I think people get that from the growth and scale of Chinese cities then.

2017-09-15 15:49:02 UTC

its also futuristics in infrastructural support perspective compared to all other countries

2017-09-15 15:50:49 UTC

mostly logistical, population density,Broadband and Wireless band scales

2017-09-15 15:59:08 UTC

FIRST

2017-09-15 16:31:28 UTC

Yeah this is the video I am referencing

2017-09-15 16:31:48 UTC

The cities might be modern but the people are outdated

2017-09-15 16:32:02 UTC

It makes for a weird surreal feeling, like it's not a real place.

2017-09-15 16:32:17 UTC

It's very strange sometimes

2017-09-15 16:42:54 UTC

I honestly count down the days until I can leave

2017-09-15 16:45:25 UTC

5.5 months seems like an eternity...but 165 days doesn't seem too bad

2017-09-15 16:46:45 UTC

I feel a very specific subset of smaller city would be comfier. Bigger ones are too much about hustle and bustle and vanity.

Felt that way in Seoul.

2017-09-15 16:46:50 UTC

I like how chinks seem to don't mind getting filmed

2017-09-15 16:47:00 UTC

No time to give a shit

2017-09-15 16:47:13 UTC

idk why it is, but here everyone is literally like "now you have my soul!" when you maybe get them on a photo

2017-09-15 16:47:44 UTC

Meh, it's weird and uncomfortable.

2017-09-15 16:48:13 UTC

shouldn't be a thing tho

2017-09-15 16:48:26 UTC

@johnfrum I agree with you. When I travel to third teir cities I feel more calm and less tense.

2017-09-15 16:48:49 UTC

And yeah chinks don't care about filming unless they think you're a spy

2017-09-15 16:49:31 UTC

For 2 months before we leave we will live with fiancee mom and grandma in smaller city

2017-09-15 16:49:55 UTC

So that'll be comfortable I think, but living with chink inlaws might be tough

2017-09-15 16:50:50 UTC

They have no sense of personal space. Just lift my shirt up whenever they want , peek into the bathroom when I shower to see if there is a towel etc etc

2017-09-15 16:51:27 UTC

But I'll enjoy not teaching for 2 months and just get to relax and travel
