or does it include industrial waste material too

2018-04-22 10:37:39 UTC

Yeah I think the west wastes more food at home because chinks shop everyday for groceries

2018-04-22 10:37:44 UTC

as chinks for sure use more pieces from their animals than most of the countries

2018-04-22 10:37:46 UTC

I wouldn't say so, industrial food waste is by far the biggest food waste in the EU because of the strict regulations

2018-04-22 10:38:03 UTC

grocery stores throw away tons of perfectly fine food only because it's past best before

2018-04-22 10:38:27 UTC

and literaly throw > tear open packets/poison them to prevent dumbster divers

2018-04-22 10:38:32 UTC

>locket trashbins

2018-04-22 10:38:34 UTC

etc etc

2018-04-22 10:39:07 UTC

Like I was in Aldi last week because my gf wanted hot pot and Aldi has really nice thin sliced beef. Deep frozen. It was 1 day past best before but fucking frozen. Who the hell cares, right? I did not even want it for free, I wanted to pay for it and they refused to sell it because they are not allowed

2018-04-22 10:39:30 UTC

You would probably never see that in China

2018-04-22 10:39:31 UTC

i know that feel

2018-04-22 10:39:41 UTC

Nah everything is past due in China haha

2018-04-22 10:39:53 UTC

"this product has been in deepfreeze section for 3 years now but its 1 day past best before date so you cant buy it"

2018-04-22 10:39:56 UTC

They don't even have a best before date, only "manufactured on" dates

2018-04-22 10:40:08 UTC

that's a more sane thing to do

2018-04-22 10:40:17 UTC

you know how old it is, you decide if you still want it

2018-04-22 10:40:27 UTC

also aids in natural selection + immunology too

2018-04-22 10:40:29 UTC

Well that's because it's tough to sue companies here if you're just a person

2018-04-22 10:40:48 UTC

yes but "best before" crazyness is huge here

2018-04-22 10:41:04 UTC

is it that bad in the US, too, or is it just overregulated EU autism?

2018-04-22 10:41:11 UTC

Same in USA. My mom is terrible about it. Refuses to eat anything that's even almost expired

2018-04-22 10:41:19 UTC

luckily i have decent deal with small market nearby

2018-04-22 10:41:25 UTC

If she leaves a sandwich out for 2 hours she throws it out

2018-04-22 10:41:34 UTC

one of their workers messages me if they have some good shit going to trash

2018-04-22 10:41:34 UTC

<:thonkang:327933449597878312>

2018-04-22 10:41:45 UTC

_illegal_ but we dont care really

2018-04-22 10:41:51 UTC

I pack sandwiches and eat them 6 hours after that sometimes

2018-04-22 10:42:30 UTC

also thats why we mostly buy from lidl, everything is super fresh

2018-04-22 10:42:39 UTC

There's a public owned grocery store in Switzerland that just sells everything on the expiry date at 50%, and if it's still there, they give it for free to homeless / family in need after the shop closes

2018-04-22 10:42:50 UTC

But only on the expiry day, not one day later

2018-04-22 10:43:31 UTC
2018-04-22 10:43:34 UTC

Love that app

2018-04-22 10:43:39 UTC

same here 1 day before -30% and on the last date -40% if clock is 21pm -23pm they give it for free or -60%(canned stuff)

2018-04-22 10:44:34 UTC

@porco we have similar but for -60% restaurant food whats left-overs

2018-04-22 10:44:45 UTC

most of (shitty) kebab places use it too what is kind of neat

2018-04-22 10:45:49 UTC
2018-04-22 10:50:19 UTC

apparently they have changed it so that the places get to mark the prices now (good and bad)

2018-04-22 10:55:42 UTC

I hate reading shit on the internet, is everyone just lying or do everyone really "go from homeless to IT Director Manager making 200k in a year"

2018-04-22 10:55:56 UTC

"no degree no experience "

2018-04-22 10:56:20 UTC

Is everyone really lucky or am I just fucking stupid

2018-04-22 10:56:41 UTC

consider that people who arent lucky will almost never publicly talk about it
