waste is usualy tied to quality of life ~

2018-04-22 10:20:13 UTC

so im not totaly suprised about the per capita list

2018-04-22 10:20:54 UTC

tho most likely those graphs are wrong

2018-04-22 10:21:02 UTC

as i doubt heavily that china logs their waste

2018-04-22 10:21:12 UTC

unlike most other countries

2018-04-22 10:22:01 UTC

considering they are responsible from about half of the worlds ozone depletion~

2018-04-22 10:29:34 UTC

China wastes so much shit but they've been conditioned to think they don't

2018-04-22 10:29:55 UTC

And no porc, you're wrong. China Vietnam Indonesia are huge waste powerhouses

2018-04-22 10:30:12 UTC

Even taking the population into account

2018-04-22 10:30:33 UTC

It's hard to compare a massive country like China to small places like Euro countries but still

2018-04-22 10:31:25 UTC

per capita is only comparison chart worth to look for when comparing nations~

2018-04-22 10:31:41 UTC

but it all depends if the nation reports their statistics properly

2018-04-22 10:31:56 UTC

and if cities etc report it

2018-04-22 10:33:07 UTC

I'm sure there is a more updated list but I'm on mobile

2018-04-22 10:33:20 UTC

When chinks argue this, they mostly talk about plastic waste

2018-04-22 10:33:37 UTC

As yes, chinks love to recycle metal and other things as long as it's money

2018-04-22 10:34:01 UTC

(if anyone can find an updated list that'd be sweet)

2018-04-22 10:34:14 UTC

i doubt there is more up to date listing since 2015

2018-04-22 10:35:26 UTC

This also doesn't mean that they create less waste - it mostly means that the countries have good systems in place to make sure the shit doesn't get into the ocean

2018-04-22 10:35:50 UTC

But one look at almost any Chinese beach will tell you they dump a lot of their trash in the rivers and ocean

2018-04-22 10:36:12 UTC

I see people litter here 50x more than I ever saw in the states

2018-04-22 10:36:29 UTC

littering yes, I was mostly talking food waste for some reason

2018-04-22 10:36:52 UTC

Food waste I'm not sure about. Chinks love to waste food at weddings, but outside of that they are fine

2018-04-22 10:37:10 UTC

even that ^ is quite complex to measure

2018-04-22 10:37:18 UTC

does food waste count only "from homes"

2018-04-22 10:37:27 UTC

or does it include industrial waste material too

2018-04-22 10:37:39 UTC

Yeah I think the west wastes more food at home because chinks shop everyday for groceries

2018-04-22 10:37:44 UTC

as chinks for sure use more pieces from their animals than most of the countries

2018-04-22 10:37:46 UTC

I wouldn't say so, industrial food waste is by far the biggest food waste in the EU because of the strict regulations

2018-04-22 10:38:03 UTC

grocery stores throw away tons of perfectly fine food only because it's past best before

2018-04-22 10:38:27 UTC

and literaly throw > tear open packets/poison them to prevent dumbster divers

2018-04-22 10:38:32 UTC

>locket trashbins

2018-04-22 10:38:34 UTC

etc etc

2018-04-22 10:39:07 UTC

Like I was in Aldi last week because my gf wanted hot pot and Aldi has really nice thin sliced beef. Deep frozen. It was 1 day past best before but fucking frozen. Who the hell cares, right? I did not even want it for free, I wanted to pay for it and they refused to sell it because they are not allowed

2018-04-22 10:39:30 UTC

You would probably never see that in China

2018-04-22 10:39:31 UTC

i know that feel

2018-04-22 10:39:41 UTC

Nah everything is past due in China haha

2018-04-22 10:39:53 UTC

"this product has been in deepfreeze section for 3 years now but its 1 day past best before date so you cant buy it"

2018-04-22 10:39:56 UTC

They don't even have a best before date, only "manufactured on" dates

2018-04-22 10:40:08 UTC

that's a more sane thing to do
