is it noticeably different compared to snes9x?
depends on the game
i never owned a snes so i don't know all the little details
idk earthbound
the more obscure the more likely it's wrong
or won't run at all
since emulators like snes9x use all sorts of hacks to up the speed at the cost of emulation working properly
the hacks vary from game to game, so the emulator has a whole list built in of which ones go to which games
so since they can't really do every game the most popular ones get patched
i've never played secret of mana before so there could be issues with the emulation but i wouldn't notice
and my memory is bad enough i wouldn't notice even if DKC was faulty in a small way
like shadows missing somewhere
I don't think any emulator can top dolphin as my favorite
this now makes me think emulators that run on things like PSPs and DS are garbage
or raspberry pis
or the Wii
i mean compared to pc emulators yeah
they have to do a bunch of tricky shit to get games to run
for the PC i'm going to only use bsnes from now on, but for other platforms i'll use snes9x since it has MSU-1 support
wait i think that means my snes emulator on 3ds has msu-1 support
it might
because it's a branch of snes9x
MSU-1 was merged into the code a little while ago
it works on my Wii
how many more weeks before the new nintendo president of America comes out as gay?
nah
bowser can't be gay
he looks like a globohomo ceo
Of all the consoles higan can emulate, higan’s Super Famicom emulation is the most resource intensive. Full-speed emulation for the Super Famicom base unit requires an Intel Core 2 Duo (or AMD equivalent), full-speed for games with the SuperFX chip requires an Intel Ivy Bridge (or equivalent), full-speed for the wire-frame animations in Mega Man X2 requires an even faster computer. Low-power CPUs like ARM chips, or Intel Atom and Celeron CPUs generally aren’t fast enough to emulate the Super Famicom with higan, although other emulated consoles may work.
could just be me
but this plays way better
