the issue is that 90% of mainstream media sources were smart enough to know it was bait and acted accordingly

most of them literally said "This was a campaign started on 4chan to bait people in to lashing out to prove an anti white bias"

so the campaign didn't exactly work

you had at least a couple freakouts, which illustrated to normies how much of the left is antiwhite

the few "freakouts" i saw were from randos on twitter with 200 followers

exactly. 4chan is cool and all but its not really a good place to organize a campaign. the issue with totally anonymous websites is that if i am a reporter or saboteur, i can easily say dumb shit on /pol/ to make the campaign look bad or misguide people
