all states get two senators

2019-09-27 22:59:40 UTC

on the state level it could be better organised
I think the 50 states deciding it is right

2019-09-27 22:59:44 UTC

representatives are spread out according to population

2019-09-27 22:59:58 UTC

Matt's last video about the EC was really good at explaining it

2019-09-27 23:00:00 UTC

popular vote however is just retarded and isn't used almost at all is for a reason

2019-09-27 23:00:01 UTC

every state gets at least one representative

2019-09-27 23:00:17 UTC

the electoral college will go away

2019-09-27 23:00:31 UTC

just like senators not being popularly elected went away

2019-09-27 23:00:41 UTC

the left is the only side that takes ground

2019-09-27 23:00:49 UTC

the right never takes any ground

2019-09-27 23:01:00 UTC

they just resist for a little while until they cave

2019-09-27 23:01:13 UTC

what is wrong with Canadas system for example, We elect people in our district for a seat in the house and then how ever gets the most seats that parties front runner becomes prime minister

2019-09-27 23:01:37 UTC

parliamentary systems are just as much a mess as our republic

2019-09-27 23:01:38 UTC

this entire area would NEVER be represented because there's so few people here http://bit.ly/2nYA6T3

2019-09-27 23:01:47 UTC

he goes over that in the vieo

2019-09-27 23:01:48 UTC

video

2019-09-27 23:02:03 UTC

states already don't get represented

2019-09-27 23:02:17 UTC

just have every person vote "equal under the law"

2019-09-27 23:02:25 UTC

then pick someone that way

2019-09-27 23:02:30 UTC

no

2019-09-27 23:02:34 UTC

not your country

2019-09-27 23:02:35 UTC

then that section would never get represented

2019-09-27 23:02:36 UTC

like i said

2019-09-27 23:02:41 UTC

we don't do it that way

2019-09-27 23:02:42 UTC

they'd never get what they want

2019-09-27 23:02:46 UTC

how wtf

2019-09-27 23:03:04 UTC

because they're not the majority, so if they disagree with the majority they'd never get what they want

2019-09-27 23:03:07 UTC

it'd get worse and worse

2019-09-27 23:03:22 UTC

i wonder how the US would do with a version of the Westminster system

2019-09-27 23:03:27 UTC

the good thing about Canada's system is that when we get a prime minister they cannot use the 'we didn't control the house/senate" excuse because to get into office their party must control the house

2019-09-27 23:03:42 UTC

but it'd probably never happen since the US is less of a country than a country of countries

2019-09-27 23:03:50 UTC

^

2019-09-27 23:04:14 UTC

the electoral college didn't make any sense to me when i was 7 years old

2019-09-27 23:04:25 UTC

@Just for youtube [NB1] this doesn't follow, people in these areas have vastly different interests

2019-09-27 23:04:33 UTC

which areas?

2019-09-27 23:04:42 UTC

the places you circled

2019-09-27 23:04:55 UTC

you mean there's many different interests within that area i circled?

2019-09-27 23:05:05 UTC

the bad side of the system Canada and Aus use though is we're pretty much at the whim of whatever the governing party decide if they to oust their leader and appoint someone else they get the job

2019-09-27 23:05:09 UTC

while atm did you see the map in the video. Swing states visited over 70 times vs some states less than 10

2019-09-27 23:05:10 UTC

or the area within the circle has vastly different interests than the area outside the circle

2019-09-27 23:05:20 UTC

i saw the video
