yeah, the controls for kingdom come's combat system definitely take some getting used to

not sure how far in you are, but it can legitimately be worth spending an hour or two just training (both to practice and to raise your skill level) with the captain of the guard outside of the post-prologue starting town

I never got charged, so I'm not sure. I expect they probably stay until you turn yourself in, though I would also expect that they only effect the town you committed the crime in
