Like Congress funding duck penis studies

2019-09-26 15:36:15 UTC

just like art grants that money is pissed away on shitty projects with no actual value

2019-09-26 15:36:21 UTC

Yeah. It’s really complicated because there’s a lot of grant money going around. Grant money is a really small percentage of government spending though

2019-09-26 15:36:21 UTC

bingo

2019-09-26 15:37:00 UTC

because apparently it's vital we know about feminist glacial theory

2019-09-26 15:37:40 UTC

What do y’all think about government data aggregation?

2019-09-26 15:38:02 UTC

An example would be eia.gov

2019-09-26 15:38:08 UTC

I think anytime a government dollar is spent on anything 'climate' related, it may as well be instantly considered 'waste' since I expect there is no oversight or scrutiny to what's produced by it

2019-09-26 15:38:21 UTC

This site contains tons of information about energy in the US

2019-09-26 15:39:21 UTC

It’s actually a pretty decent website. Easy to navigate

2019-09-26 15:39:46 UTC

How much money did they spend on it?

2019-09-26 15:40:20 UTC

@grant the website? No clue

2019-09-26 15:40:32 UTC

The data presented is really good though I think

2019-09-26 15:41:01 UTC

You can use this data to figure out all sorts of things

2019-09-26 15:41:35 UTC

It’s good to help fight back against environmentalist nonsense to an extent

2019-09-26 15:42:08 UTC

So I'm on the site

2019-09-26 15:42:23 UTC

@RuRu yeah. I read that earlier this morning

2019-09-26 15:42:26 UTC

And it's already lofty bullshit

2019-09-26 15:42:51 UTC

Well, it’s just reporting on what’s happened in energy

2019-09-26 15:42:54 UTC

They can adopt whatever targets they want. "We adopt to have NO CANCER by 2050"
really doesn't mean shit

2019-09-26 15:43:05 UTC

right

2019-09-26 15:43:12 UTC

but it's pointless to read honestly

2019-09-26 15:45:05 UTC

@RuRu yeah, that’s what those states have passed. Having this information consolidated like this is good to show why the federal government doesn’t need to do anything about climate change. They have other information that makes it easier to tell environmentalists to shut up because the issue will resolve itself business as usual.

2019-09-26 15:45:20 UTC

i understand

2019-09-26 15:46:06 UTC

basically countries with New Year resolutions

2019-09-26 15:46:45 UTC

This part of the site shows electricity generation by fuel source for each month

2019-09-26 15:47:01 UTC

You can download this data and do additional graphs with it.

2019-09-26 15:47:17 UTC

They even have hourly data you can do this with too.

2019-09-26 15:49:09 UTC

something funny is there's a collobarated website here in Aus between various universities on climate change called "The conversation" they recently started banning any and all skeptics so it's more like "the monologue"

2019-09-26 15:50:13 UTC

Virtually every green energy or environmentalist website i have gone to bans comments questioning climate change

2019-09-26 15:52:15 UTC

It concerns me because the lack of debate means the best solution may not be reached

2019-09-26 15:52:30 UTC

Even pro nuclear people get shut down.
