i really wonder why so many scientists are wrong about it tbh
probably sheer complexity of the entire climate system
there are ungodly amount of factors involved
and no small amount of ego I bet
It's all about research grants
who's going to give up a steady income and admit "nothing really going on"
that's there reason to keep going but not so much their inability to make accurate predictions
if they could make accurate predictions they'd have an easier time with the grants
Climate science is really complicated and I have my doubts, but I would argue that there are other good reasons to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
I have serious doubts behind some of the agricultural green house has emissions claims.
Health reasons is one. Exhaust particles (not co2) is cariogenic
if it wasn't money and power as the real motive they'd have been better off sticking with more concrete, actionable and observable things like air and water pollution but actually solving them doesn't get them money and power to the same degree as the earth is going to die 12 years
Thatâs true, but I donât believe that particulates are causing nearly as much health problems as environmentalists claim @4AM_critter đ
but it is best to minimalize them
I think there is a genuine lack of accountability and follow up with how grant money is used, and what it produces, tbh
Like Congress funding duck penis studies
just like art grants that money is pissed away on shitty projects with no actual value
Yeah. Itâs really complicated because thereâs a lot of grant money going around. Grant money is a really small percentage of government spending though
bingo
What do yâall think about government data aggregation?
An example would be eia.gov
I think anytime a government dollar is spent on anything 'climate' related, it may as well be instantly considered 'waste' since I expect there is no oversight or scrutiny to what's produced by it
This site contains tons of information about energy in the US
Itâs actually a pretty decent website. Easy to navigate
How much money did they spend on it?
@grant the website? No clue
The data presented is really good though I think
You can use this data to figure out all sorts of things
Itâs good to help fight back against environmentalist nonsense to an extent
So I'm on the site
@RuRu yeah. I read that earlier this morning
And it's already lofty bullshit
Well, itâs just reporting on whatâs happened in energy
They can adopt whatever targets they want. "We adopt to have NO CANCER by 2050"
really doesn't mean shit
right
but it's pointless to read honestly
@RuRu yeah, thatâs what those states have passed. Having this information consolidated like this is good to show why the federal government doesnât need to do anything about climate change. They have other information that makes it easier to tell environmentalists to shut up because the issue will resolve itself business as usual.
