Energy and environment issues are the topic I talk about the most.

2019-05-05 18:02:00 UTC

k

2019-05-05 18:02:04 UTC

It bores shadows. lol

2019-05-05 18:02:19 UTC

lol

2019-05-05 18:02:53 UTC

It doesn't bore me, just rarely anything new is ever said.

2019-05-05 18:02:59 UTC

Generally speaking, intermittency only becomes a problem when renewables penetration gets high enough.

2019-05-05 18:03:01 UTC

Sal was going to show up regardless anyway, shadows

2019-05-05 18:03:20 UTC

Which is good.

2019-05-05 18:03:54 UTC

The us could integrate 60-70% renewables before issues really start.

2019-05-05 18:04:31 UTC

Past that it gets weird. And past 80% it’s very expensive

2019-05-05 18:04:41 UTC

and that's why zero emissions is a problem

2019-05-05 18:05:26 UTC

60-70? yeah i don't think so - more like 15%

2019-05-05 18:07:28 UTC

lets not forget the lithium and other minerals that need to be mined for batteries, that then get disposed of at EOL

2019-05-05 18:08:31 UTC

The us gets 20% of its electricity generation from renewables.

2019-05-05 18:08:44 UTC

There are regions where that level is much higher.

2019-05-05 18:09:12 UTC

then that means the other 80% is still done far in excess of demand

2019-05-05 18:09:30 UTC

Sup feds ❤️

2019-05-05 18:10:34 UTC

Well, that’s going to be the case anyways. Spinning reserves already existed.

2019-05-05 18:11:15 UTC

I’m saying that past 80% it’s very difficult to get renewables to penetrate further because of that.

2019-05-05 18:12:11 UTC

Environmentalists treat pumped hydro like it’s a holy grail. Many harp on how cheap it apparently is, but can never explain why it doesn’t make up the majority of peaking power currently.

2019-05-05 18:12:43 UTC

They hate hydro cuz of habitat destruction

2019-05-05 18:12:50 UTC

@TheCompanyMan Whats up spook.

2019-05-05 18:14:01 UTC

Mowed the lawn so the feds in the chelihopters can see I'm not up to no good. Ya know how it is. 💁🏽‍♂️🤡

2019-05-05 18:15:24 UTC

Yes. Because of purity spirals.

2019-05-05 18:15:48 UTC

Nobody should directly follow environmentalists’ advice.

2019-05-05 18:16:22 UTC

I'll follow who i want dad!

2019-05-05 18:16:27 UTC

Geez.

2019-05-05 18:18:12 UTC

Don’t dread on me. lol

2019-05-05 18:19:04 UTC

I hear some are planning long trips in the sea during typhoon season, sounds like a great idea to me.

2019-05-05 21:16:22 UTC

^Everyone who doesn't bow to far left orthadoxy is alt-right. oh and also the left never does anything wrong.

2019-05-05 22:07:15 UTC

If you don't subscribe to WaPo

2019-05-05 22:07:54 UTC

Technically from before the election I guess

2019-05-05 22:10:13 UTC

This one gives results

2019-05-05 22:12:35 UTC

"Interest in Vox - which will become the first far-right party to sit in parliament since 1982 - has snowballed."

2019-05-05 22:13:07 UTC

How can you possibly give such a strict definition of far right to be able to determine this

2019-05-05 22:14:10 UTC

Standard beliefs in 1982 would be considered "far right" now I'm sure

2019-05-05 22:14:54 UTC

"While it is careful to distance itself from the ideology of late dictator Francisco Franco, Vox’s signature policies include repealing laws banning Franco-era symbols and on gender-based violence, and shifting power away from Spain’s regional governments."
