I’m saying that past 80% it’s very difficult to get renewables to penetrate further because of that.

Environmentalists treat pumped hydro like it’s a holy grail. Many harp on how cheap it apparently is, but can never explain why it doesn’t make up the majority of peaking power currently.

2019-05-05 18:12:43 UTC

They hate hydro cuz of habitat destruction

2019-05-05 18:12:50 UTC

@TheCompanyMan Whats up spook.

2019-05-05 18:14:01 UTC

Mowed the lawn so the feds in the chelihopters can see I'm not up to no good. Ya know how it is. 💁🏽‍♂️🤡

2019-05-05 18:15:24 UTC

Yes. Because of purity spirals.

2019-05-05 18:15:48 UTC

Nobody should directly follow environmentalists’ advice.

2019-05-05 18:16:22 UTC

I'll follow who i want dad!

2019-05-05 18:16:27 UTC

Geez.

2019-05-05 18:18:12 UTC

Don’t dread on me. lol

2019-05-05 18:19:04 UTC

I hear some are planning long trips in the sea during typhoon season, sounds like a great idea to me.

2019-05-05 21:16:22 UTC

^Everyone who doesn't bow to far left orthadoxy is alt-right. oh and also the left never does anything wrong.

2019-05-05 22:07:15 UTC

If you don't subscribe to WaPo

2019-05-05 22:07:54 UTC

Technically from before the election I guess

2019-05-05 22:10:13 UTC

This one gives results

2019-05-05 22:12:35 UTC

"Interest in Vox - which will become the first far-right party to sit in parliament since 1982 - has snowballed."

2019-05-05 22:13:07 UTC

How can you possibly give such a strict definition of far right to be able to determine this

2019-05-05 22:14:10 UTC

Standard beliefs in 1982 would be considered "far right" now I'm sure

2019-05-05 22:14:54 UTC

"While it is careful to distance itself from the ideology of late dictator Francisco Franco, Vox’s signature policies include repealing laws banning Franco-era symbols and on gender-based violence, and shifting power away from Spain’s regional governments."

2019-05-05 22:16:17 UTC

None of this sounds far right, at least assuming the gender based violence law is like Title IX or something and not "rape is now legal"

2019-05-05 22:18:44 UTC

Could be almost anything. That's a pretty vague description, probably on purpose

2019-05-05 22:19:49 UTC

Wasn't Francisco Franco 'right' only in the sense that he was fighting against actual fucking communists?

2019-05-05 22:21:34 UTC

He was nationalist rather than internationalist, which is pretty much what defines European Left and Right

2019-05-05 22:24:42 UTC

Wikipedia says their ideology includes Zionism, which IMO pretty much excludes you from the actual far right

2019-05-05 22:25:54 UTC

The Wikipedia article seems informative and not extremely biased overall

2019-05-05 22:27:23 UTC

Sounds like they just want to replace whatever that gender violence law is with one that includes men in its definitions, gender equality is far right I guess

2019-05-05 22:28:08 UTC

classic jew-loving nazis

2019-05-05 22:36:21 UTC

The only positions they have that could be reasonably interpreted as "extreme" are on Islam and that's mostly just because all the other Europeans seem to want to have more Islamization

2019-05-05 22:37:11 UTC

They seem to roughly resemble Tommy Robinson's positions on it

2019-05-06 02:38:01 UTC

^campus reform roundup includes the Texas hat incident

2019-05-06 04:58:30 UTC

I started looking into that the other day. Very he said she said. Could be some silver bullet divorce shit

2019-05-06 05:05:51 UTC

yeah, hence why I said "silver bullet divorce shit"
also, relevant older quillette piece https://quillette.com/2019/04/16/divorce-and-the-silver-bullet/
