The god king of the Daily Wire said something that I think is exactly right: a normal, sane, moderate Democrat would blow Trump out of the water in the general election but will get 0 delegates in the primaries

Its also fund raising for the dnc, all those candidates have to go earn money for the dnc that will eventually end up not getting used by the failed candidates and get rolled into the dnc machine

2019-06-14 16:45:04 UTC

I suppose that’s true but that also assumes that more candidates = more fundraising. If they’re all drawing from the same potential pool for funding (i.e. people who are likely to give money to democrats) then you’re not really changing the size of the pool

Unless you mean the candidates who fail give all their money to the DNC rather than the successful candidate. Then I guess it makes sense

@amlam i would assume some funding overlaps (i.e. if it didnt go to candidate x it would have gone to y). And some is unique, like some progressives would never have given a dime to biden, but that money will get to biden via warren donations. And not all that money will go to presidental candidates, some will go to other campaigns to further the dnc brand

2019-06-14 18:36:44 UTC

I've heard some candidate end up owing money and the party bails them out, and that's how people who bring in the big money exert control over the party.

2019-06-14 18:37:17 UTC

(Those with the money get those who owe money to pledge loyalty to them)

2019-06-14 18:38:42 UTC

Don't know if thats true though

2019-06-14 19:10:19 UTC

Well at a minimum your allegence to the dnc would impact how much they invest in you politically

She was cleared of the charges

2019-06-14 21:36:06 UTC

so bernie sander's wife is still at least horribly incompetent but not a criminal.

2019-06-14 21:37:46 UTC

Didn't California just move to lower the penalty for knowingly transmitting HIV like last year

2019-06-14 21:38:24 UTC

is there opposition in Canada to criminalizing the willful spread of disease?

2019-06-14 21:38:59 UTC

its like trying to poison someone.

2019-06-14 21:55:43 UTC

Its exactly like trying to poison someone

2019-06-14 21:58:35 UTC

Why doesn't it legally qualify as poisoning?

2019-06-14 21:59:28 UTC

I am actually curious.

2019-06-14 22:03:43 UTC

Me too

2019-06-14 22:32:21 UTC

Poisining is now a crime? Perhaps its attempted murder?

2019-06-14 23:09:54 UTC

That’s for British Columbia not California @grant

2019-06-14 23:35:56 UTC

I was just pointing out a related policy change

2019-06-14 23:42:56 UTC

the real story is in the comments.

2019-06-14 23:43:12 UTC

`The punch line to this announcement is:
The 1st guy convicted of first degree murder for non-disclosure was a staff member for the Attorney General of Ontario, under the liberal govt. Johnson Aziga. He infected 11 partners, including a fellow staff member. The AG/govt office paid for his defence.
No wonder the libs won't commit to this plan until after the next election, they'd lose a lot of votes.`
