My money is now on fondboy having a discord-debate-ASMR fetish. Must be why he always asks for voice and records people
We're constantly blue-balling him with all this text debate
lol
it's a terrible format since every time he;s been in voice there are like 3 people trying to get a word in edgewise
we prolly all sound like idiots
maybe that is his purpose
I mean
I admire his bravery violating multiple state's laws
not really, not if he lives in a country/state, where there is only 1 party consent
yeah but a number of us live in 2 party consent states
such as myself
since he is recording in a location like that, those laws don't apply
I'm not sure that's how that works
plus we all know youtube doesn't use the law as their measuring stick anyway
So it's legal for him to record you, but you can't record him?
^
pretty much, from what i understand from the whole law issue, since where are you going to sue him?
in your state?
lol
or in his state?
suing him would be a profound waste of time
I'm pretty sure the only wiretapping law that applies is the one of the state where the one doing the recording is.
2 party consent states are fucking lame anyway.
I'll take y'all's word for it
I just won't use voice when he's there
... hmm some googling about your american laws have made me aware that california for example ruled that in the case of 1 vs 2 party consent, 2 party consent wins
I suspected as much
plus you're running into federal wiretapping statutes
nothing the FBI hates more than stealing their tactics
https://www.rev.com/blog/phone-call-recording-laws-state but there is also this, that says that you should look at where the recorder is located, to check what laws apply, so really it depends on your state
What was fondest going on about yesterday? @uncephalized
Yeah that's a good point. Definitely don't just take my own advice on the subject unless you have knowledge of actual case law that backs me up, because I have no idea what I'm talking about
california is the safest then, since they have a ruling on a case going for them about this
Contrary to popular belief, myth isnt a mod or admin, I honestly thought he was too
Probably because he got his own fancy role and subsequent name color
Yeah
Y'all are missing the important part of wiretap law: you have to have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and even a successful suit won't repair whatever damage is done, as the perp likely doesn't have enough assets to seize in civil court to make up for job loss. And family drama.
Fair enough I was just bringing up in the fact that, even I thought Myth was a moderator
