speaking of TTGL, anyone go see Promare in the theaters last week?

No but they were talking about it on CSB

it was REALLY well animated, and lots of fun, but ||the story was literally just Rossiu's arc from right after the time skip in TTGL||

I mean, not a bad arc to pick tbh

oh yeah, it was well selected, I just thought it was funny that the main antagonist ||has pretty much the exact same motivations as Rossiu and it follows the exact same story beats of "we have to sacrifice most of humanity so that a few of us can escape ON THIS GIANT SPACESHIP" "but there's a way to do this without sacrificing anyone!"||

Well the thing with ||Rossiu|| was that he was ||overwhelmed by the sheer destruction the enemy was capable of, and he didn't go through the same growth as Simone. He's the straightman in a world where that approach genuinely doesn't work||

yeah, that's very true. The antagonist in Promare was a much simpler, more straight forward character, but considering that they only had an hour and a half to develop the entire story, it's not particularly surprising

it was just funny that the story is pretty close to 1:1.

I mean they also have not-Kamina in the movie
