LA too. cause i'm doing a paper on dog euthanasia. me being in NJ where no-kill shelters are the norm and euthanasia of dogs is treated as an absolute evil, i was hoping to talk to someone who is from those areas where stray dog populations are outta control and maybe there are different attitudes.... i'm trying on this "debate" room cause, well, maybe it's controversial. apologies if this is wrong

ah, there are several different methods. so, for example, in high kill shelters, they use gas chambers (carbon dioxide or monoxide) and put a group of dogs in at a time (maybe the size of an oven). intracardial injection is abit dated but still sometimes used. or there are methods of individual euthanasia, for example when a companion dog is put down at the vet individually, they'll use Pentobarbital combination injections

"with conditions" means that conditions must be met, andthere is room for error. typically, injections tend to be less faulty, more effective in rapid and stress-free death, and thus more likely to be humane. but thet's more expensive, and let's say, in the south where a shelter might be euthanizing 50+ dogs in a day with limited funding, you gotta consider that.
