That's not true, gay marriage still hasn't set in the majority of the culture
because it wasn't passed via law it was passed via Supreme Court decision
But now we're supporting each other's position
It doesn't need to be the majority, just a sizable population, or significant group of people. People who's culture and beliefs promote such laws.

Much of the US is going the way of Progressives. Especially in the big cities. These people have clout and are typically wealthy and more connected to jobs which matter, like media jobs. CNN is based in Atlanta.
