Divorce laws changed the culture

2017-07-06 02:12:56 UTC

not vice - versa

2017-07-06 02:13:04 UTC

I figured you were talking about gay marriage. Culture first, there.

2017-07-06 02:14:08 UTC

Divorce laws had to be fuled by people working to promote it. In fact, when you start to look into it, culture in the west had been loosing up for years prior. Think about feminism. Divorce laws came after.

2017-07-06 02:14:08 UTC

What about gay marriage? what point are you making

2017-07-06 02:14:30 UTC

Culture advocated for such laws to be cool. That's why they were made.

2017-07-06 02:14:44 UTC

No, culture fought against it

2017-07-06 02:14:46 UTC

it was the politicians

2017-07-06 02:15:14 UTC

We've been loosing up here in the west. Becoming more progressive. Think of Canada, those laws came about because the country is becoming more progressive.

2017-07-06 02:15:35 UTC

Laws come after culture clears the road.

2017-07-06 02:15:49 UTC

Culture->Laws

2017-07-06 02:15:52 UTC

That's not true, gay marriage still hasn't set in the majority of the culture

2017-07-06 02:16:12 UTC

because it wasn't passed via law it was passed via Supreme Court decision

2017-07-06 02:16:28 UTC

But now we're supporting each other's position

2017-07-06 02:16:40 UTC

It doesn't need to be the majority, just a sizable population, or significant group of people. People who's culture and beliefs promote such laws.

2017-07-06 02:16:45 UTC

I thought we were talking about how much of an impact culture vs laws have on behavior

2017-07-06 02:16:47 UTC

not chicken or egg

2017-07-06 02:18:01 UTC

Much of the US is going the way of Progressives. Especially in the big cities. These people have clout and are typically wealthy and more connected to jobs which matter, like media jobs. CNN is based in Atlanta.

2017-07-06 02:18:32 UTC

I'm not sure if there was a misscommunication, if so, woops. I guess we were talking about separate topics?

2017-07-06 02:18:39 UTC

Hello

2017-07-06 02:18:53 UTC

Call me

2017-07-06 02:18:54 UTC

The topic was about whether or not laws against being fat or a culture of not being fat would have more of an impact

2017-07-06 02:19:22 UTC

Oh no not the Nazis

2017-07-06 02:19:23 UTC

And to that I'd say the laws, of course depending on how strict the laws/culture was

2017-07-06 02:19:40 UTC

What's wrong with the Nazis?

2017-07-06 02:20:17 UTC

Poland knows how to deal with invasion

2017-07-06 02:20:34 UTC

Well, seeing as I am arguing that Culture comes before laws, because we need a culture which wants something like Gay marriage, or legalization of marijuanna, I say that Culture is more powerful and would impact a society's weight.

2017-07-06 02:20:54 UTC

Weight trends*

2017-07-06 02:21:09 UTC

You would not even need laws.
