Like usual, his acquaintance is probably going to point to outcomes and the past when it actually happened (and claim it just happens in secret now). I'd be interested to know if the person actually sites something different.
well I mean that's the claim though, not necessarily the evidence
like I think the argument ultimately boils down to a lazy racism claim
wherein they point out police run-ins and higher rates of incarceration, you mention higher crimerates
BOOM
Racist
Like I said before they can't think of anything so stupid just doesn't have the same effect as racist
the trick is to use some SJ Judo and make the claim sound racist against Black Americans and other PoC(tm) if you wanna rattle em
Alternatively, if theyre using historical examples, mention that there were some European groups that committed more crime at certain points in history
or that Chinese Americans have absolutely wrecked shit
they've done so fucking well
What they're trying to do is minimize the person not the point the person is trying to make, it's more of a I like that person so what they are saying must be right. Vs I don't like that person, but they do have a point.
Man I just had some tacos and a quesadilla from this food truck and it was awesome
It's like the news articles that MC just did a video on. If they can vilify semi automatics, and change the terminology, in a few short years semi automatics will be come "automatics", it's more of a character attack that a point of view attack.
I think it's just the fact that race and identity are uncomfortable subjects (mostly because they're not hugely worthwhile and run the risk of generalization and exposing one's ignorance) so rather than allow that to occur, people just want to shut the shit down
and because one identitiarian narrative is prominent now, it's held up as "normal"
He goes on about judicial system stuff now. If his assertions get questioned, he just says something along the lines of ‘you don’t understand because you haven’t experienced it’. Its absurd. I want to get as much information as I can to decimate whatever arguments he may use. I’m determined to red pill him. Lol
@Beemann Im thinking of using that tactic. He would have to deny black victims of crime to justify his assertions.
He hasnt experienced what you've experienced, so he cant comment on the expertise your experience gives you
checkmate atheists
Lol. It’s frustrating.
By the way, the PSA Sitch video (in <#266400976267640833>) actually covered that the strategy of labeling data over perception (at about 39min mark). That video is great.
The whole ‘you don’t understand because you haven’t experienced it’ argument is really just another version of "Feeling over facts" or "speak my truth". I think people in this chat have seen the many body cam videos of black people lying about their "experiences" to know better
Yeah. I watched that video. It was good. It’s hard to bust what amounts to a religious belief.
I'm not sure what the best way to present this is, but sometimes people assume they were treated bad because race when really it was because the other person was just a jerk (to everyone).
Yeah. That’s true.
I just think that more data will help. He doesn’t seem to believe that racism = power + prejudice.
what kind of dipshit buys into that outside of a college campus?
The misapplication of sociological definitions is what plagues brainlets like you and others
the idea is institutional power, which is also bullshit, but the concept of power + prejudice only exists in those dumb classrooms.
at least learn your own dumb shit concepts before you go spouting off about them
yes a black man can be racist, the concept of institutional power has no bearing on weather or not a negro can be a racist shithead.
any time now
Well, I don’t agree with that definition either. I’m just stating that the person I’m debating may not believe it either, which makes the debate easier. Like PSA Sitch said, that definition was developed to defend an ideological position.
it is a misapplication of a poorly thought out idea
>hurrr institutional power (which seems to be timeless)
uh, well that changes
sorry ye I didn't see enough of the argument
No. I understand. Lol.
I was just wondering if anyone had already compiled data to disprove the assertion of systemic racism
Check out the confrontation I had today with La Raza in Pacoima
I just the trailer for the Neil Armstrong movie, the amount of American flags shown in there it's hysterical. They know they messed up
@ConservstiveMexican where can we view your confrontation?
