If Owen was fine mentally/emotionally he wouldn't even be doing these things like he went off on Crowder or Joe or Peterson. Again, its not what you think about these people. These are not things a healthy person does.

2019-01-26 13:38:21 UTC

In the final analysis, to be a comedian, you have to have a few loose screws.

2019-01-26 13:39:00 UTC

Oddly, some people will be cool with your brand of crazy, some won’t

2019-01-26 13:41:13 UTC

Personally I like Benjamin’s stand up a fair amount. The rest of his stuff comes across to me as a little discordant, and that’s about it.
I try not to make anyone into a demigod

2019-01-26 22:05:02 UTC

Good perspective Nic. As for Shadows, Owen didn’t “go off” on Crowder. Evidence please. Joe and Peterson should have MORE people “going off” on them, not less.

2019-01-27 00:50:21 UTC

Why did he apologize to crowder if he didn't "go off" on him.

2019-01-27 00:52:59 UTC

whats issue between the two i dont follow Owen

2019-01-27 00:52:59 UTC

My concern is that he seemed to start insolating himself from anyone who criticized him. That's usually not a good thing. Hearing that his relationship with crowder is still good is a good thing. It means he's not insolated and has people he trusts who can give him feedback who he will listen to.

2019-01-27 00:53:37 UTC

He was claiming that crowder fired him and cut off ties

2019-01-27 00:54:04 UTC

turns out that's not the case, which is good news, because I like the stuff they do together

2019-01-27 00:55:40 UTC

I suspect when they start doing stuff together again all this concerned about owen stuff will go away

2019-01-27 00:59:53 UTC

It seems like Owen can get a little parinoid

2019-01-27 01:00:28 UTC

I understand why though. He got screwed over by CAA.

2019-01-27 01:01:12 UTC

they fired him over saying pushing trans on kids is wrong, then they go and pick up Jordan peterson.

2019-01-27 01:05:39 UTC

I think its social media, he's quick to get on it and say what he's thinking. He should probably reach out and talk to people first. This is usually behavior of people on the left, and I think this is why some people were concerned. At least for me the crowder apology is a good sign that my concerns were unfounded for now.

2019-01-27 01:20:40 UTC

Hey. Meatspace. It’s real

2019-01-27 19:48:16 UTC

people should look at these crazy people. Their goals. One of which is net 0 carbon emissions by 2025.....of course with 0 ideas of how to do that.https://rebellion.earth/

2019-01-27 19:57:42 UTC

You don’t have to be able to do anything, just say you’re going to and then demonize the other side when they push back

2019-01-27 19:58:09 UTC

Then give in immediately while feigning effort to make yourself look good

2019-01-27 19:58:59 UTC

look guys, we shouldn't worry about being factually correct when we're being *morally right*

2019-01-27 19:59:20 UTC

and of course to get to their protests they drive their gas powered vehicles wearing their clothes made in other countries transported using fossil fuels so they can buy them

2019-01-27 20:00:42 UTC

Of course, AOC doesn't seem to understand that being truthful is as morally right as you can get

2019-01-27 20:01:24 UTC

There was a great article I think Shapiro wrote it where he outlines how being factually incorrect can't be morally right

2019-01-27 20:13:31 UTC

I might have to disagree with Ben on that (wouldn't be the first time lol) @I Know a Fat Guy

2019-01-27 20:17:13 UTC

well I don't agree all the time with him either. However I don't see how you can be factually incorrect yet still be morally right....I mean if your facts are wrong how can your conclusion be correct?

2019-01-27 20:20:33 UTC

I think there are some exceptions to that idea. I can picture many instances where lying about reality might be a more moral option over a fact of reality. But, its not something i would want to do often (maybe if at all).

2019-01-27 20:22:15 UTC

I can see that on a small scale....say interpersonal relationships.....but on a national scale? ehhhhhhh

2019-01-27 20:26:34 UTC

Lets go with a big scale, crazy idea. If a meteor were to be on its way to hit the earth, one that could kill most if not all of us, and only the government knew about, or made anyone else who watches the stars knew about it but made them keep quite (this isn't likely, but just tossing out the idea).
If there was nothing we could do about it, would it be morally good or bad to tell everyone. I think i might argue to keep it a secret and lie.

2019-01-27 20:29:14 UTC

well there is a difference between not saying anything and lying. Take your example. Keep it quiet sure. If asked about the meteor then tell the truth. People are going to find out. I just see the fine line between that and the NSA spying when they lied to congress. Factually incorrect but thought he was morally right.

2019-01-27 20:31:05 UTC

In my example, its not possible for anyone to find out (outside of the few that already know). But ya, i think we understand, some things are difficult to grade on a scale of whats More moral.

2019-01-28 00:24:44 UTC

How do you know that the meteor impact is not preventable if you don‘t get input from everyone who might have an idea on how to stop it? If you don‘t say something you might not hear from the one guy that actually would have a plan that works because of his experience in something absurd that you would not even consider to be relevant like... plumbing... or something.

2019-01-28 00:25:52 UTC

I‘m all all for zero carbon emissions as long as i‘m not the guy that has to kill all the cows.

2019-01-28 09:01:14 UTC

@I AM ERROR Chelyabinsk meteor?

2019-01-28 09:01:45 UTC

Who saw it before enter the atmosphere?

2019-01-28 09:01:57 UTC

How you prevent it?

2019-01-28 09:41:50 UTC

Lying is never moral. It may sometimes be EXCUSABLE or UNDERSTANDABLE, but never moral.

2019-01-28 12:00:09 UTC

The purpose of moral philosophy or theology is to give us standard operating procedures for when shit hits the fan.

2019-01-28 12:01:23 UTC

90% of my time in the military and 99.9% of my tens of thousands of (well spent) martial arts training were about that.

2019-01-28 12:02:57 UTC

Seeing as the former prevented any of my own troops from dieing and the latter has saved my life on at least five occasions, I consider this preparation well spent

2019-01-28 12:03:50 UTC

YMMV of course. Many people have a high-k approach to life
