Its a good thing no one here is talking about CP then...

2019-03-01 22:26:32 UTC

bro we're being hyperbolic when we say that

2019-03-01 22:26:58 UTC

@Big T The frog analogy is a false, frogs wouldn't die like that.

2019-03-01 22:27:05 UTC

....

2019-03-01 22:28:21 UTC

its a valid analogy.

2019-03-01 22:28:49 UTC

no one is focusing on conducting a study to see if a frog will actually stay in a pot

2019-03-01 22:29:03 UTC

its commentary on social change is useful

2019-03-01 22:29:51 UTC

there's all kinds of silly phrases that have odd origins, but are very useful in describing things

2019-03-01 22:32:05 UTC

btw they just arrested the berkeley assault suspect. campus wide email just went out

2019-03-01 22:32:36 UTC

Zachary Greenberg is his name

2019-03-01 22:34:15 UTC

Yes, i understand all of that.
But its not a useful analogy if its not (somewhat) accurate, but to be clear i understand your point.
This still hasn't changed what i said. So many people foolishly say, "Oh, so this is the hill you want to die on".
All they are saying is "Oh, so being free is a hill you want to die on", and yes, that's a principle, any backing away from that means its no longer a principle.
Which by the way i'm only arguing other people about, because our supreme court sides with my argument.

2019-03-01 22:35:13 UTC

we will just have to agree to disagree then.

2019-03-01 22:40:27 UTC

@Big T shadows the type not concerned with winning others over. Like the naked LP guy lol

2019-03-01 22:40:52 UTC

This is false.

2019-03-01 22:41:00 UTC

I just don't do it with you.

2019-03-01 22:41:24 UTC

He likes me <3

2019-03-01 22:41:46 UTC

That is common in any arena i suppose. There is merit to it, but we do need ppl willing to compomise.

2019-03-01 22:43:00 UTC

Compromising is a very useful thing, but also a damaging thing if you are standing up for a principle.

2019-03-01 22:43:40 UTC

i would argue that it is only damaging if you are compromising in the wrong direction

2019-03-01 22:43:46 UTC

like with 2A rights

2019-03-01 22:44:00 UTC

I won't compromise when it comes to our constitution, no matter how many people "feel" its a good thing.

2019-03-01 22:44:15 UTC

And i'm talking about the 1A right now.

2019-03-01 22:45:00 UTC

its just an example. like wanting to repeal the NFA, but compromising on legalizing suppressors. its the direction of compromising that is key

2019-03-01 22:46:08 UTC

a more 1A example in the wrong direction would be rejecting hate speech legislation, but allowing for blasphemy legislation

2019-03-01 22:50:03 UTC

And as censoring freedom of expression goes against our constitution (and human rights), its asking for blasphemy legislation.

2019-03-01 22:51:32 UTC

i think you missed my point. both are bad, and one is a subset of the other, so compromising in that direction is harmful

2019-03-01 22:52:21 UTC

No, i got that.

2019-03-01 22:53:06 UTC

Go do your project so you can watch what i linked you later heh.

2019-03-01 22:53:38 UTC

building a compiler, assembler, and linker

2019-03-01 22:54:03 UTC

For school or work.

2019-03-01 22:54:08 UTC

school

2019-03-01 22:54:14 UTC

Cool.

2019-03-01 22:54:21 UTC

i go to UC Berkeley

2019-03-01 22:59:12 UTC

I'm sorry to hear that.

2019-03-01 22:59:17 UTC

Ahh, so that's why you knew about that assault.

2019-03-01 22:59:26 UTC

yup

2019-03-01 22:59:59 UTC

lol @wolfman1911 its CS program is still world class, even if i have to watch out for the occasional bike lock

2019-03-01 23:05:17 UTC

I would be less worried about a bike lock over the "everything about you is evil" courses (at many colleges).

2019-03-01 23:07:28 UTC

lol i transfered from a community college, so i completed all the general education courses there. You have to take two social sciences courses (where the SJW stuff is rampant). I took macro and micro economics instead. So i've managed to avoid all that crap.

2019-03-01 23:08:58 UTC

all my course work here at UC Berkeley is major specific. with the exception of one course I had to take, which was a mandatory social justice course. it was bs, professor said that the problem with norway is that they are having to deal with the fact that they are white.

2019-03-01 23:09:20 UTC

would refer to us as comrade 30+ times a lecture
