Yeah I was wondering if this was an attempted diversity initiative with bad optics, if not a joke that accidentally made it through lol

If you can hire someone cuz they're black or Mexican you can for white people as well.. otherwise it's just hypocritical

So there were two results of my little conversation on Reddit where I asked how unions would save the game Dev industry.

1) The whole argument pisses me off even more now, because the few people that did respond made it clear that they have no idea how unions would help, they are just regurgitating what they've been told by others.

2) I got banned from that sub because some cunt tried to pretend like posting on The Donald invalidated my opinion and I told him to eat shit and die.

It's almost like most of reddit is left wing echo chambers.

There are definitely some bad conditions in the gaming industry, but I think that may be the result of everyone and their dog wanting to work in it. I think if people realize it's not all it's cracked up to be the labor supply will drop and they'll have to make some changes

2019-05-01 03:09:02 UTC

I would have figured the same, but it hasn't happened yet, and this stuff has been going on for years.

2019-05-01 03:13:53 UTC

Yeah, I'm not even saying temporary organization of the workers to get a point across (I personally don't believe permanent labor unions are ever a good idea) wouldn't be worth doing, but I'm not going to believe it's going to fix everything either

2019-05-01 03:16:25 UTC

The problem is if they quit there are 10x the people waiting in line

2019-05-01 16:29:04 UTC

Maybe not. But I AM sure they use UBER.

2019-05-01 20:21:50 UTC

I'm arguing with people who foolishly believe "body language" is a useful thing lol.

2019-05-01 20:34:07 UTC

Body language can be useful

2019-05-01 20:43:46 UTC

Only for officials who can use it against someone who believe it tells them something. You don't learn anything from it.

2019-05-01 20:52:50 UTC

I don't know that I would go that far, it's just situational

2019-05-01 20:57:38 UTC

Situationally useless.

2019-05-01 20:57:58 UTC

lol

2019-05-01 20:58:40 UTC

body language can u tell you something as simple as they are cold

2019-05-01 20:58:47 UTC

or if a chicks into you

2019-05-01 20:59:37 UTC

ur dogs respond to body language

2019-05-01 20:59:42 UTC

the world responds to body language

2019-05-01 21:00:46 UTC

its particularly useful in arguments

2019-05-01 21:00:52 UTC

so u can tell if ur about to get sucker punched or not at the bar

2019-05-01 21:00:55 UTC

Ya, its a way humans interact, but you can't learn anything accurately if someone is lying or not by reading it.

2019-05-01 21:01:34 UTC

You could get to the point where you could tell if specific people were lying by reading it

2019-05-01 21:02:56 UTC

You are really trying to make me link some Justicar aren't you?

2019-05-01 21:03:00 UTC

lol

2019-05-01 21:03:54 UTC

Or you're just generalizing what you've been told too broadly

Yes, youre using one context and applying it broadly from that

2019-05-01 21:05:42 UTC

Did you miss the And?

2019-05-01 21:06:45 UTC

There's a difference between "the detective can tell you're lying by your body language" and "I know you super well and, by extension, what happens when you're not being honest with me"

2019-05-01 21:08:05 UTC

Yep, that is a difference.

2019-05-01 21:09:51 UTC

Yes, and Justicar arguing against one is not negation of the other, nor is Justicar arguing against armchair experts evidence against people's ability to read those in their close social circles

2019-05-01 21:15:48 UTC

Body language is pretty useful.. you can tell alot by how a person presents themselves while speaking on a subject. Like if they truly believe what they're saying or if they're uncomfortable with the person next to them.. plenty of info to be gained from body language.

2019-05-01 21:16:14 UTC

Info that can be used for some sort of gain if used correctly

2019-05-01 21:30:40 UTC

Naa.
