VendorCompany's solution to accomplish a certain task was using an archaic technology that literally everyone has abandoned. The contract does not stipulate we must use this solution, but if we do it's included in the cost. It would take months and months to get this working and even then it would be unstable and result in long term support issues. I found another vendor where we could get the task up and running in days, save boatloads of money, and require almost no support. The answer? "With VendorCompany it's free."

You're also not addressing the issue leading to it. Drug addiction, and really all addiction, isn't because of the availability of the addictive product . It's because of mental issues, problematic home life, depression, feelings of uselessness and a loss of drive and purpose in life. Those are what need to be addressed in society. Repairing the family unit, reinforcing traditional values society wide, etc etc. Those are solutions to the problem

So if you're proposing a ban on something, you're already admitting defeat in addressing the real issues and trying to find a lazy and simple way out that simply won't work
