sadly not

2017-02-03 16:38:12 UTC

Barring that, one would assume the extruder died, but a multimeter is both cheap and arguably an essential piece of kit

2017-02-03 16:38:35 UTC

I'm not so sure extruders can fail in this way

2017-02-03 16:38:56 UTC

apparentlly heat cartridges can overheat

2017-02-03 16:39:13 UTC

but what did you print so far :x

2017-02-03 16:39:22 UTC

nothing, but it heated up once

2017-02-03 16:39:55 UTC

Yea I saw from above

2017-02-03 16:40:10 UTC

But it's at like 16-18'C now right

2017-02-03 16:40:15 UTC

25

2017-02-03 16:40:49 UTC

If I were you neighbor I'd run over there now to test your output leads from the board :/

2017-02-03 16:41:04 UTC

Did you strip the ends

2017-02-03 16:41:07 UTC

yes

2017-02-03 16:41:22 UTC

The sucky thing would be a dead board

2017-02-03 16:41:34 UTC

Just checked, the wires seemed to be rip so I stripped them again and made sure it connects

2017-02-03 16:41:37 UTC

If it's a dead extruder head then it's just an excuse to upgrade early

2017-02-03 16:41:38 UTC

didnt work though

2017-02-03 16:42:16 UTC

I've heard gearbest may ship replacement parts if you bought it from them

2017-02-03 16:43:03 UTC

Did you try manual temp setting

2017-02-03 16:43:09 UTC

yeah

2017-02-03 16:43:12 UTC

"Heat PLA" etc ok

2017-02-03 16:43:18 UTC

heat pla doesnt do anything

2017-02-03 16:43:27 UTC

setting temp to 190C and returning resets

2017-02-03 16:43:33 UTC

Weird

2017-02-03 16:43:35 UTC

when I get into the Extruder Menu it says

2017-02-03 16:43:38 UTC

Extruder 0 Off

2017-02-03 16:43:58 UTC

And you've tried resetting too right

2017-02-03 16:44:05 UTC

How?

2017-02-03 16:44:16 UTC

Just power cycle I mean

2017-02-03 16:44:17 UTC
2017-02-03 16:44:19 UTC

yeah

2017-02-03 16:45:12 UTC

This is part of the "fun" and learning but yeah idk we can pussyfoot around testing the board itself but when it comes down to it you need a meter

2017-02-03 16:45:24 UTC

im getting one tomorrow

2017-02-03 16:45:33 UTC

still sucks because it used to work

2017-02-03 16:45:40 UTC

and I have no idea how to access error logs

2017-02-03 16:45:56 UTC

Unsure if logs would be useful

2017-02-03 16:46:24 UTC

Do you have a temp probe? I'm assuming that's how you checked the thermistor

2017-02-03 16:46:47 UTC

I dont

2017-02-03 16:47:13 UTC

If the thermistor was DOA in the first place, maybe it overheated, but you say it works

2017-02-03 16:47:22 UTC

fauly thermistor should show up at 0 or def

2017-02-03 16:47:37 UTC

also the hot end doesnt heat up, im sure
