just getting worried since gf said malaysia postal sucks

2017-03-15 14:40:30 UTC

lol ok

2017-03-15 14:40:38 UTC

Get over there and tell him to peddle faster, Mao.

2017-03-15 14:40:51 UTC

ive used a 4k screen. of course you can have 4x 1080p windows open at same time, but its all very small and not the same

2017-03-15 14:40:54 UTC

he has to swim over the ocean too

2017-03-15 14:40:56 UTC

Think you need to wait for it to reach Malaysia to start getting tracking info

2017-03-15 14:41:01 UTC

oh ok

2017-03-15 14:41:02 UTC

id go with two 1440p 144hz to replace, to be honest

2017-03-15 14:41:09 UTC

i'm in the us

2017-03-15 14:41:10 UTC

Exactly, kaetaa.

2017-03-15 14:41:18 UTC

Yeah that's probably the best idea

2017-03-15 14:41:34 UTC

You'd have to have a screen 2 times the size of your one 1080p to get the effect of 4 1080p screens.

2017-03-15 14:41:49 UTC

I don't play games a lot so maybe 144Hz is overkill

2017-03-15 14:41:52 UTC

Even then text and menu scaling is abysmal.

2017-03-15 14:42:04 UTC

High refresh even for general usage is amazing.

2017-03-15 14:42:26 UTC

The first time you move your mouse and it doesn't ghost all over the place. Wew.

2017-03-15 14:42:53 UTC

Media consumption is painful though without the likes of svp.

2017-03-15 14:42:58 UTC

>explaining to normies why you have one monitor at vertical tilt

2017-03-15 14:43:07 UTC

Haha.

2017-03-15 14:43:19 UTC

I have to explain this to people that do have multiple monitors.

2017-03-15 14:43:59 UTC

Yeah well I'll look around, probably considering 2x1440p at 120+ Hz thanks

2017-03-15 14:44:17 UTC

Do they even make 120hz 1440p screens?

2017-03-15 14:44:37 UTC

I thought they all went straight to 144.

2017-03-15 14:44:43 UTC

id personaly stay in 3x 1080p

2017-03-15 14:44:53 UTC

just get proper monitor stand/arm

2017-03-15 14:44:57 UTC

i think tvs are 120 these days, not sure about monitors. probably

2017-03-15 14:45:04 UTC

Thick bezels are ruining it though

2017-03-15 14:45:29 UTC

Not all tvs, but yeah, there are quite a few that support true 120hz. Like the seiki 39" I use.

2017-03-15 14:45:58 UTC

i watched i am legend on 120hz back in 2006. was fucking weird

2017-03-15 14:46:15 UTC

In theory, any 4k display should support 1080p at a high refresh rate.

2017-03-15 14:46:38 UTC

yeah when i had 4k i would switch back and forth depending on what i was doing

2017-03-15 14:46:49 UTC

but to be honest, it was a pain in the ass. never again. 4k is a meme on monitors

2017-03-15 14:47:19 UTC

My seiki actually looks like dogshit on 1080p unless it's set to 120hz. Really wanted the 4k, but I didn't realize it was restricted to 30hz.

2017-03-15 14:47:20 UTC

4k is glorious for monitors.. sadly the hardware is what its keeping it back

2017-03-15 14:49:04 UTC

The image quality at 4k is sublime. But that refresh rate. Even tweaking the resolution settings to get it to 33hz was bad. It can also do 1440p at 72hz, it's fine for games and videos. But horrible for general use.

2017-03-15 14:49:43 UTC

Constantly switching resolutions is too much of a hassle so I just leave it at 1080p 120hz.

2017-03-15 14:50:15 UTC

also i like how they jumpped the 2k resolution completly

2017-03-15 14:50:48 UTC

Wasn't worth the cost. Plus scaling.

2017-03-15 14:51:14 UTC

4k scales perfectly with 720p and 1080p content. 1440p only scales with 720p.

2017-03-15 14:51:59 UTC

Well 3840x2160.

2017-03-15 14:52:19 UTC

Not 16:10 true 4k.
