and that just was the hello world equivalent

2017-11-20 22:33:13 UTC

Arduino pros are just nanos without usb-uart, so you need a separate uart dongle

2017-11-20 22:33:13 UTC

damn son

2017-11-20 22:33:13 UTC

most of the thing we did in that class was run a softcore cpu once and then just do your shit in C++

2017-11-20 22:34:00 UTC

@efaxdi the esp32 has loads of pins, but i not think the software is as mature

2017-11-20 22:34:14 UTC

There was this massive buttplug posted here earlier, I can't find it

2017-11-20 22:34:20 UTC

also they have ADCs too don't they

2017-11-20 22:34:29 UTC

Have you looked in your ass

2017-11-20 22:34:31 UTC

unless you meant to imply they are unusable

2017-11-20 22:34:46 UTC

I'd fucking know if it was there

2017-11-20 22:34:50 UTC

kek

2017-11-20 22:34:52 UTC

It was like the size of an infant

2017-11-20 22:34:53 UTC

>buttplug

2017-11-20 22:35:01 UTC

> i thought that was a 4chan meme

2017-11-20 22:35:25 UTC

Buttplugs are alright

2017-11-20 22:35:28 UTC

like those genji buttpads. Sad!

2017-11-20 22:35:43 UTC

I was talking about 8266, it has 1 shitty adc with 1v input

2017-11-20 22:35:55 UTC

ok yeah one channel is a bit shit

2017-11-20 22:36:00 UTC

but the ESP32 has 18 channels

2017-11-20 22:37:39 UTC

posting my esp32 project

2017-11-20 22:37:41 UTC

ESP32 is great with IO, esp8266 wasn't that good, so attaching an arduino was oftenly a valid option

2017-11-20 22:38:11 UTC

the problem was the actual ESP8266 chip had plenty of IO ports

2017-11-20 22:38:18 UTC

but most of the breakouts didnt provide them

2017-11-20 22:38:43 UTC

@Lj4IW9hY3JmTwb looks comfy

2017-11-20 22:39:07 UTC

like both of these use the same chip

2017-11-20 22:41:22 UTC

i like the wemos d1 series

2017-11-20 22:41:51 UTC

ye those are pretty neat

2017-11-20 22:42:05 UTC

going for the same stackable shield design as arduino uno

2017-11-20 22:42:37 UTC

wemos started with something new now, x-series or something

2017-11-20 22:42:43 UTC

seems neat af

2017-11-20 22:43:38 UTC

that seems overpriced

2017-11-20 22:44:46 UTC

esp32 should be ~$5 and about the same for the neopixel ring

2017-11-20 22:44:50 UTC

the other parts are pennies

2017-11-20 22:45:32 UTC

oh wait are those tiny displays

2017-11-20 22:47:56 UTC
2017-11-20 22:48:46 UTC

yeah, 2.9inch

2017-11-20 22:48:51 UTC

because i didnt have enough to do already im attempting to build my own dual channel variable power supply
