not including weekends

2018-01-28 20:32:43 UTC

We lived in an apartment, no welfare, and paid all our bills.

2018-01-28 20:32:55 UTC

It wasn't easy but we got by.

2018-01-28 20:33:26 UTC

Man now I want to take $20 and see what we can make that'll last a week. lol

2018-01-28 20:33:31 UTC

@Odalman Yes, you have to sacrfice most of your comforts and luxuries, but it is do-able.

2018-01-28 20:34:29 UTC

we had some comforts, I mean it was amazing compared to the kind of life people in third world countries experience.

2018-01-28 20:35:23 UTC

Man i wish i could do it

2018-01-28 20:35:39 UTC

My boys would smash 20$ worth of anything in a day

2018-01-28 20:36:10 UTC

It was just my wife and I, no children. With children it's much harder but I think with a little bit more $ it's doable.

2018-01-28 20:36:55 UTC

Yhea, you should not have kids with 20K, unless you are willing sacrfice even more of the few comforts you have, and more of your money which is going to be little.

2018-01-28 20:37:14 UTC

When you're poor you have to be creative. We found ways to eat decent food for cheap.

2018-01-28 20:37:23 UTC

ALSO canning is a great way to save money.

2018-01-28 20:38:31 UTC

If you buy things while their in season and can them, you can save a bunch of money.

2018-01-28 20:38:43 UTC

Plus it's way better than what you're going to get at the store.

2018-01-28 20:38:54 UTC

Canning?

2018-01-28 20:39:06 UTC

Never heard of that done before, and I have heard of a lot of stuff.

2018-01-28 20:42:02 UTC

Good video explaination.

2018-01-28 20:42:40 UTC

What would you can?

2018-01-28 20:43:28 UTC

This guy sounds like a mix between hank hill and a generic hillbilly.

2018-01-28 20:43:56 UTC

Hey man, hillbillies are my people.

2018-01-28 20:44:27 UTC

Redknecks are my people, but I have not heard of them doing stuff like this.

2018-01-28 20:45:17 UTC

When I heard "canning" I immedieatly thought about tin cans that you open with a can opener, and then I see him using glass jars that you screw off with your hands.... thought I could have remembered that.

2018-01-28 20:45:25 UTC

Canning is a big thing around Appalachia.

2018-01-28 20:46:00 UTC

Yeah it's kinda silly, we call a jar a can when talking about canning.

2018-01-28 20:46:07 UTC

You could call it can preserving.

2018-01-28 20:46:22 UTC

Anyway, you can preserve meat, veggies, fruit and all kinds of stuff.

2018-01-28 20:46:24 UTC

Beans

2018-01-28 20:46:37 UTC

You can keep some of these things for years.

2018-01-28 20:47:58 UTC

And also ground beef apparently.

2018-01-28 20:48:38 UTC

that's not even half of our jars.

2018-01-28 20:48:46 UTC

We're stocking up for next season.

2018-01-28 20:49:06 UTC

that's not even a quarter of the jars we have.

2018-01-28 20:49:08 UTC

I would not reccoment doing stacking like that, looks like they would have a tendency to fall down on the ground and make a giant mess.

2018-01-28 20:49:12 UTC

I have 2 gross jars I inherited from my grandma

2018-01-28 20:49:30 UTC
2018-01-28 20:49:36 UTC

Trust me the jars are stable. lol

2018-01-28 20:49:45 UTC

For all you goys who played New Vegas. Watch that and rethink your life choices

2018-01-28 20:50:16 UTC

@Odalman Like the one time I went to grab a jar of pickles at a wegmans then a jar of olives fell and smashed on the ground?

2018-01-28 20:50:37 UTC

Well, be more careful.
