But its not as sexy as container homes.

2018-08-22 07:39:06 UTC

not that those geodesic temporary homes look bad

2018-08-22 07:40:00 UTC

but they will be bitch to check to fit for national standards

2018-08-22 07:40:05 UTC

if they are not counted as Tents

2018-08-22 07:40:17 UTC

Its for wood storage, inspector

2018-08-22 07:40:29 UTC

"yes see those logs sleeping there"

2018-08-22 07:40:42 UTC

"even Great H-man used to burn them too for heat"

2018-08-22 07:40:56 UTC

"he had Jew-logs"

2018-08-22 07:42:05 UTC

A bunch of burger firms do the shed that totally isnt a cabin *wink wink* thing

2018-08-22 07:43:38 UTC

i wonder whats the insulation on those doms

2018-08-22 07:44:21 UTC

and load bearing capability too (snow)

2018-08-22 07:44:44 UTC

Probably poor
*spray insulation and equipment not included, dear friend

2018-08-22 07:45:21 UTC

2018-08-22 07:45:36 UTC

You don't need insulation.

2018-08-22 07:45:52 UTC

Cant imagine it bears much snow given it'll just slide off

2018-08-22 07:46:18 UTC

Single-pane glass is totally fine. Ask Britain. 👍

2018-08-22 07:46:36 UTC

@johnfrum That's probably the case.

2018-08-22 07:47:03 UTC

+ the dome shape is pretty good for the load bearing shit anyway.

2018-08-22 07:47:03 UTC

Single pane glass is fine, and nicer to look through.

2018-08-22 07:49:17 UTC

dome shape sadly does not help when its geodesic in most cases as the metal bars are usualy thinner and the weight focuses on lowest points (ground level) from top

2018-08-22 07:49:32 UTC

specialy with wet-snow what packs itself from sides too

2018-08-22 07:50:23 UTC

same as with windload

2018-08-22 07:50:28 UTC

Monostructure concrete is probably better then.

2018-08-22 07:50:34 UTC

yep

2018-08-22 07:51:16 UTC

but sure it can hold more tensio = weight ratio than most other stuff

2018-08-22 07:52:23 UTC

but if you take average 9m dome and apply basic steel structures and rolled shapes to it

2018-08-22 07:53:10 UTC

it will need locking washers on center points to fortify its structure

2018-08-22 07:54:08 UTC

i mean horizontal center-beam suspended mass on those is usualy only around 30-50kg zone

2018-08-22 07:55:12 UTC

safe working load on all nodes is around 300kg

2018-08-22 07:55:21 UTC

or 600kg for single center node

2018-08-22 07:55:48 UTC

keeping in mind that steelframe needs to carry weight of outdoor/indoor paneling/insulation/shelfs/etc

2018-08-22 07:56:04 UTC

it quickly becomes tetris game of evenly spreading the weight

2018-08-22 07:58:00 UTC

Sounds like math. Gronk make cave out of concrete, gronk stay safe

2018-08-22 07:58:05 UTC

:D

2018-08-22 07:58:07 UTC

indeed

2018-08-22 07:58:11 UTC

engineer in me talking

2018-08-22 07:59:10 UTC

Hoenstly if ypu arent making your home out of monocast steel a foot and a half thick using Maginot Line plans you are asking to die

2018-08-22 08:00:01 UTC

I work retail, I'm already asking to die.

2018-08-22 08:02:06 UTC

i work at UPS <:deepthonk:326852766884560897> megasuicide

2018-08-22 08:02:10 UTC

Yeah but do you have a turret house with foot thick steel walls
