I've always done protectors on devices until this phone(HTC 10), and honestly, unless you're gonna redo the protector every few months to keep it looking pretty, I'd skip it.

You just get scratches on the protector instead of the phone, and how much do you care about the phone itself being scratched, you're just gonna replace it.

I do a skin case on mine, not the fuckhuge and think otterbox types

Skin cases are the best

I do thin cases. My phone is about 1/2" in a case.

But it's also super slick without a case, so it's half to protect it if it falls, half to prevent it from falling.
