I've always done protectors on devices until this phone(HTC 10), and honestly, unless you're gonna redo the protector every few months to keep it looking pretty, I'd skip it.

You just get scratches on the protector instead of the phone, and how much do you care about the phone itself being scratched, you're just gonna replace it.

I do thin cases. My phone is about 1/2" in a case.
