you need to supply 12-24v
the ts100 is expensive if you just want occasional use
that will give you 12v from a QC3.0 power bank
the irons can do low voltage cutoff, so you can juse use a bare lipo

the tips wear out really quickly
you may be able to do it with a brand new tip
actually 14awg is probably possible
get one and try tbh
they're like 5-10$
these things are OK for very occasional or light use. I've gone through 3 or 4 tips because they just don't last long
they have no thermal mass so basically overheat
once they start to wear out they are useless and pull around 5-6w instead of 7-8w and it makes all the difference
