Britain was a fucking empire once. They were gods, once. They were already economically dependent enough nationally by the time they joined the EU, and have remained the most economically independent. Still, with the EU headed down the shitter, it seeks to take Britain’s Solid economy with it.
If Brexit is handled carefully and correctly, maybe she’ll be able to somehow re-obtain some of her former supremacy. Of course she won’t become anywhere near where she was at her height, but the West could seriously use another strong hegemon in case America’s own primacy were to fade away

Krugman is a Hack
He thinks Trump has libertarian policies 😂😂😂😂
lmao krugman is hilarious
He’s turned into a total neocon.
As if being a Keynesian isn’t bad enough.
Trump isn't a Republican despite the title
He's like Reagan lite, who wouldn't be considered a Conservative by today's standards.
He is like Reagan in that regard, perhaps, but, in regards to actual policy, Trump is the exact opposite of Reagan. He hated him too back in the 80s.
Either way; it’s funny...conservatives today try to convince themselves that they’re “true conservative heroes”. While that may have been true of Reagan by 80s standards, he’d be a centrist neoliberal democrat today. As for Trump? He was never a conservative. Not yesterday. Not today.
Trump is an old school mercantilist if anything.
