I have to agree with Laure here. Poland wasn't "at fault" for Germany attacking. You act like Germany starting an offensive war would be a bad thing though.

2019-02-04 19:24:49 UTC

Doesn't really matter about the reason imo, Hitler had every reason to attack Poland over his racial doctrine. Uniting the German people was more than enough on it's own.

2019-02-04 19:25:18 UTC

What isn't justified is British response. Britain and France didn't have to start WWII.

2019-02-04 19:25:26 UTC

They could've just walked away

2019-02-04 19:26:01 UTC

And practiced the liberal democratic mantra of "mind your own business" but liberals hold no conviction.

2019-02-04 19:26:03 UTC

Bound by treaty iirc

2019-02-04 19:26:10 UTC

Which they had ignored

2019-02-04 19:26:13 UTC

3 times before Poland

2019-02-04 19:26:27 UTC

With Austria, Sudatenland, and Memel.

2019-02-04 19:26:47 UTC

Hell Britain even fucking signed the document to give them Sudatenland

2019-02-04 19:27:07 UTC

"Bound by treaty" after they had wiped their ass with it.

2019-02-04 19:27:45 UTC

>Britain and France didn't have to start WWII
They had to, the treaty between UK, France and Poland was kind of different from the ones that established Versailles Order

2019-02-04 19:28:13 UTC

You dont have to do anything even while bound by a treaty as they had made clear with Versailles.

2019-02-04 19:28:23 UTC

And tbh, they realised that appeasement wasn't working at all
They did it too fucking late, but at least they did

2019-02-04 19:28:37 UTC

Britain then decides to fight a world war over Poland and then doesn't even save it, puts it and several other countries under communist rule util the late 80's and 90's.

2019-02-04 19:28:58 UTC

Also, you kind of forget, that Poland wasn't the only country he attacked before he invaded France

2019-02-04 19:29:14 UTC

Danes, Norway

2019-02-04 19:29:19 UTC

He would still attack USSR

2019-02-04 19:29:25 UTC

Benelux

2019-02-04 19:29:32 UTC

Yeah I know the reasoning why they did it. It doesn't justify Britain throwing Europe under the bus over Poland.

2019-02-04 19:30:05 UTC

The USSR had every reason to do what they did. Hitler started a race war with them.

2019-02-04 19:30:17 UTC

Britain had flimsy treaties that it picked when it was convenient to uphold.

2019-02-04 19:31:57 UTC

Tbh neither France nor Britain did much, they are even blamed for betrayal and breach of treatie, because they didn't really attacked Germany after it started the war (although they kind of had right to do so according to the treaties)

2019-02-04 19:32:25 UTC

All Britain was out for was the fucking international finance system, they weren't even out for themselves because they fucking gave up the empire immediately afterwards after going bankrupt buying illegally produced US military "surplus".

2019-02-04 19:32:33 UTC

I mean, we shall consider the whole "French offensive" a fucking joke and pretend it wasn't a thing

2019-02-04 19:32:43 UTC

Yeah

2019-02-04 19:32:45 UTC

Fuck the allies

2019-02-04 19:32:52 UTC

The absolute worst most garbage faction in WWII.

2019-02-04 19:33:09 UTC

Entirely preventable war.

2019-02-04 19:33:09 UTC

For obvious reasons I can't really agree with that

2019-02-04 19:33:12 UTC

Thanks Britain.

2019-02-04 19:33:51 UTC

Yeah, preventing the war at the cost of wiping out most of central and eastern Europe

2019-02-04 19:33:57 UTC

Well everyone's sort of equally bad in the eyes of the Polish I suspect. Britain offered aid that it never sent and left you under the bus to get fucked by Stalin. And naturally you'd oppose any foreign invader, so that's both the USSR and Germany.

2019-02-04 19:33:59 UTC

Sounds like a great plan

2019-02-04 19:34:06 UTC

Better than the world in addition.

2019-02-04 19:34:11 UTC

Mitigating the damage.

2019-02-04 19:35:00 UTC

>better than the world
Japan would try to conquer Asia anyway and they would probably started the war with US anyway

2019-02-04 19:36:17 UTC

The only part of the world that the Germany's war had any impact was Europe, and here it doesn't really matter if France and Britatin would join the war (I mean immediately, Hitler would attack them anyway at some point)

2019-02-04 19:36:26 UTC

Japan probably would have but without the Brits egging them on, the US would never have prepared for war.

2019-02-04 19:36:35 UTC

Or sent armaments en-masse to everybody.

2019-02-04 19:36:59 UTC

Hell, maybe the US continues trade with Japan because of the depression and capitalizes on the war by selling to everybody indiscriminately.
