2018-08-14 16:58:58 UTC

the chinese only say 3 things in a single sentence

2018-08-14 16:59:18 UTC

4 when they're pissed off

2018-08-14 17:38:00 UTC

Why didn't Mao got rid of the two manji symbols?

2018-08-14 17:38:12 UTC

During simplifying Chinese script.

2018-08-14 17:39:48 UTC

卐/卍

2018-08-14 17:42:04 UTC

Why? Because they had it first

2018-08-14 17:42:07 UTC

the symbol means peace

2018-08-14 17:42:17 UTC

Hitler ruined it

2018-08-14 17:43:02 UTC

In their histery Europeans got rid of any kind of swastikas, aside from Finns maybe bcuz they're Mongols.

2018-08-14 17:43:11 UTC

But West and East Asian states had no problem with that.

2018-08-14 17:43:21 UTC

You'd think communists would want to get rid of "nazi symbolics" first.

2018-08-14 17:45:12 UTC

Not if you like your country's tradition so much

2018-08-14 17:45:29 UTC

And know the small differences

2018-08-14 17:45:53 UTC

the swastika is titled one way but the manji symbols arent

2018-08-14 17:46:19 UTC

asians know the small differences

2018-08-14 17:48:20 UTC

I don't know where calling it swastika came from, it isn't even its European name.

2018-08-14 17:48:26 UTC

I guess it was later with demonisation of Hitler and banning it.

2018-08-14 17:49:07 UTC

The common misconception is that "Hitler stole it from the Hindus and blackmailed it", but it was a traditional Germanic symbol he used like the runes and it was used by every human civilisation in history.

2018-08-14 17:49:49 UTC

Russian Fascist Party used it in the same shape as Hitler even.

2018-08-14 17:50:34 UTC

>In various forms it is alternatively known in various European languages as the Hakenkreuz ("hooked cross"), gammadion, cross cramponnée, croix gammée, fylfot or tetraskelion
Failed to mention Slavic name posolon.

2018-08-14 18:06:03 UTC

Every human civilisation?

2018-08-14 18:06:42 UTC

Yes. Even Native Americans.

2018-08-14 18:06:48 UTC

I think the earliest one was found amongst the Harappans.

2018-08-14 18:07:00 UTC

I'm only unsure about Pacific Islanders and Abbos.

2018-08-14 18:07:33 UTC

US had a Native American division with Native American version of swastika.

2018-08-14 18:17:53 UTC

Why is this?

2018-08-14 18:18:00 UTC

Nazis went back in time?

2018-08-14 18:18:16 UTC

Maybe?

2018-08-14 18:21:24 UTC

No but seriously, why is this?

2018-08-14 18:27:52 UTC

Common archetypes if I had to guess.

2018-08-14 18:28:03 UTC

Or maybe there really was some spread of symbolism, but how did it end up in the Americas?

2018-08-14 18:36:13 UTC

Must be very very old and important

2018-08-14 18:36:24 UTC

or pure coincidence

2018-08-14 18:36:30 UTC

but it was very important

2018-08-14 18:36:44 UTC

So it could be that

2018-08-14 19:08:49 UTC

Pure coincidence that cultures as apart as America developed it, yeah. It must be really a simple geometrical shape.

2018-08-14 19:11:10 UTC

Depends on the meaning

2018-08-14 19:11:35 UTC

if the meaning from america is the same as the others then I think it was just a culture who brought it to america
