than so be it

2018-02-06 03:49:52 UTC

I block when it becomes obvious they aren't really talking with me

2018-02-06 03:50:16 UTC

If there's another reason then of course I don't but if I don't give a shit I don't give a shit

2018-02-06 03:50:54 UTC

hmm well i still find the debate amusing

2018-02-06 03:51:14 UTC

Fair nuff man

2018-02-06 03:51:16 UTC

and i can get insight into how they think

2018-02-06 03:51:32 UTC

after all there is no creature to study like the homo saipien

2018-02-06 03:51:46 UTC

The insight I've found is that they tend to do it to affirm their own positions. Because people on the other side getting mad means the other side loses, right?

2018-02-06 03:51:58 UTC

(Hint: Its not right)

2018-02-06 03:52:45 UTC

so what do you think the governments place is in a society

2018-02-06 03:52:58 UTC

Oh boy

2018-02-06 03:53:04 UTC

Gimme a sec, this might take time

2018-02-06 04:08:41 UTC

So I think the best way to describe my idea of what government should be and its place in society (and boy have I erased what I was writing a few times to try and say this right) is the institution makes sure Society functions. Society, meanwhile, I think is the systems Humanity creates to attempt to better human life, even if their real intent is hijacked. Therefore, a Government's place in my mind is one that protects the freedoms of others (reminder that Freedom ends just before your fist hits my nose and punching at me without hitting me is still a dick move) and provides the conditions for society to flourish.

2018-02-06 04:09:32 UTC

I also believe that a government that does not have the direct support of the people does not have a place in society.

2018-02-06 04:10:02 UTC

i agree

2018-02-06 04:10:20 UTC

me to an extent

2018-02-06 04:10:39 UTC

hey

2018-02-06 04:12:43 UTC

hey so im guessing you disagree with authoritarianism

2018-02-06 04:13:07 UTC

That's an understatement

2018-02-06 04:13:36 UTC

I am basically as anti-authoritarian as you can be without being outright Anarchist

2018-02-06 04:14:22 UTC

i think in some situations authoritarianism can become necessary if lets say a racist rebellion takes half your country

2018-02-06 04:14:47 UTC

Its a last resort if ever

2018-02-06 04:15:07 UTC

Godzilla threshold has to have been crossed and it should only exist long enough to deal with the problem

2018-02-06 04:15:17 UTC

Decisively and swiftly

2018-02-06 04:23:02 UTC

i think civil war

2018-02-06 04:23:06 UTC

seems sufficient

2018-02-06 04:27:33 UTC

Civil war is a messy thing

2018-02-06 04:27:39 UTC

and an awful one

2018-02-06 04:29:00 UTC

What's you guy's thoughts on Prescriptive Morality?

2018-02-06 04:30:16 UTC

ignorant of it

2018-02-06 04:31:58 UTC

Basically think of it this way: A person (usually at the least) has the right not to die

Proscriptive Morality says not killing that person is enough to be moral based on that piece of morality
Prescriptive Morality means that in order to be moral if you know something is gonna kill someone you need to do something about it

2018-02-06 04:33:23 UTC

oh i think some people deserve to die

2018-02-06 04:33:29 UTC

if someone went up to you

2018-02-06 04:33:33 UTC

killed your family

2018-02-06 04:33:38 UTC

and said they would keep killing

2018-02-06 04:33:42 UTC

should they die

2018-02-06 04:35:52 UTC

I agree kinda, but not for the reason you gave and I think there's something we should be doing before we just start killing people, namely that the psychologists should get to study the minds of the truly fucked up criminals (psychopaths, child rapists, etc)

2018-02-06 04:36:06 UTC

Because if we can learn what's wrong with their heads we can MAYBE fix it

2018-02-06 04:36:10 UTC

not at all psychopaths are actually bad

2018-02-06 04:36:14 UTC

agreed

2018-02-06 04:36:18 UTC

i know a few
