than so be it
I block when it becomes obvious they aren't really talking with me
If there's another reason then of course I don't but if I don't give a shit I don't give a shit
hmm well i still find the debate amusing
Fair nuff man
and i can get insight into how they think
after all there is no creature to study like the homo saipien
The insight I've found is that they tend to do it to affirm their own positions. Because people on the other side getting mad means the other side loses, right?
(Hint: Its not right)
so what do you think the governments place is in a society
Oh boy
Gimme a sec, this might take time
So I think the best way to describe my idea of what government should be and its place in society (and boy have I erased what I was writing a few times to try and say this right) is the institution makes sure Society functions. Society, meanwhile, I think is the systems Humanity creates to attempt to better human life, even if their real intent is hijacked. Therefore, a Government's place in my mind is one that protects the freedoms of others (reminder that Freedom ends just before your fist hits my nose and punching at me without hitting me is still a dick move) and provides the conditions for society to flourish.
I also believe that a government that does not have the direct support of the people does not have a place in society.
i agree
me to an extent
hey
hey so im guessing you disagree with authoritarianism
That's an understatement
I am basically as anti-authoritarian as you can be without being outright Anarchist
i think in some situations authoritarianism can become necessary if lets say a racist rebellion takes half your country
Its a last resort if ever
Godzilla threshold has to have been crossed and it should only exist long enough to deal with the problem
Decisively and swiftly
i think civil war
seems sufficient
Civil war is a messy thing
and an awful one
What's you guy's thoughts on Prescriptive Morality?
ignorant of it
Basically think of it this way: A person (usually at the least) has the right not to die
Proscriptive Morality says not killing that person is enough to be moral based on that piece of morality
Prescriptive Morality means that in order to be moral if you know something is gonna kill someone you need to do something about it
oh i think some people deserve to die
if someone went up to you
killed your family
and said they would keep killing
should they die
I agree kinda, but not for the reason you gave and I think there's something we should be doing before we just start killing people, namely that the psychologists should get to study the minds of the truly fucked up criminals (psychopaths, child rapists, etc)
Because if we can learn what's wrong with their heads we can MAYBE fix it
not at all psychopaths are actually bad
agreed
i know a few
