there's more than 1% that don't need to work. Well depends on what country.
How about homelessness and death?
Of course not in the world.
to want to work, be useful, or reach self actualization doesnt at equate to wage labour
1% of the world.
That's what we turned it into.
Not all of us turned into that.
And it is infact a form of coerced labour
Not literal slavery, but coerced nonetheless
There are people who either can't or won't work...they are homeless or on disability...unless they're wealthy.
I don't want to work just for the money, simply because I don't really need money. I want to work if it benefitted others.
Coerced labor is slavery.
It's a nice way of saying forced.
coerced labor is labor you perform, under coercion.
It isnt intrinsically slavery
because you technically have a false choice
Just like signing paperwork under duress.
"Work or starve"
Exactly.
yes but if you're a capitalist,
you pretend thats a choice
Which obviously its not,
but I image E is a capitalist
or wants to be one
He wants capitalism because he is wealthy.
It's within his interests.
Not the people around him.
The majority do not want capitalism.
But thats why I mentioned work doesnt have to be wage labour
Which is exactly why I want to work for others. Out of my own interests.
to say people "Want to work" isnt to be simplified to them working to not starve
Simply because Im a selfish capitalist pig of course
they want to work, because people want to feel useful
It's slavery if any person does not want to work.
I wouldn't call it
that
Just like you wouldn't call government tyrannical.
That's just life. You have to work.
Well I think there is a relevant distinction to be made between coerced labor and slavery
and you dont have to work
