People think north korea is communist still
It's hard to even talk about anything communist related
They removed it for their constitution after the collapse of the USSR
Like people would have knowledge about that
In fact, the term is so often misused nowadays that I think most people do not understand that communism= goal of socialism: a classless, moneyless and stateless society and socialism=the steps taken by the dictatorship of the proletariat toward the eventual goal: communism
I'm in America so it's even worse
Communism = oppressive state doing things
How can North Korea even aspire to have a classless, moneyless and stateless society when the USA and other first world capitalists are so determined to destroy its potential to achieve such a goal?
I live in uk same here
People like Jeremy Corbyn labelled socialist because welfare
>socialism is bad
Stalin was a goon
Also lol corbyn
People genuinely think Obama is a socialist
Comrade corbyn yes
Lmao
Obama
Socialist
Lol
Exactly
Aren't there a decent amount of communists in labor though?
Yea no
But Apparently so
Because the Labour Party was never and will never be socialist
Whatttt
It’s more just liberals trying to be edgy by quoting the Communist Manifesto a couple times
And British communist parties such as CPGB and CPGB-ML are a fucking joke
I still think there is a bit of hope though
If not a good start
I like Maoist theory because it develops on Marxism-Leninism: the idea is that the elite have since offered exceptional living conditions to the third world that used to be in their backyard and by doing so have pushed their dirty business into other (third world) countries where profit can be made at the expense of labour costs, just like London’s factories in the 1800s but where we cannot see them and benefit from their output, thereby essentially becoming puppets to the bourgeoisie. Parties like CPGB and its ML alternative create problems within the first world in order to justify their means for existence in the first world, where there are no problems
I think the best way therefore to understand the proletariat would be to see it as “the proletarians *(are those who)* have nothing to lose but their chains”
You mean the Weekly Worker? Or the Morning Star>
