Funny thing I was reading

2020-01-06 16:01:03 UTC

So the strike against Soleimani was essentially a throw away COA that staffers briefed to Trump

2020-01-06 16:01:33 UTC

They briefed several different COAs as a response to the embassy being targetted

2020-01-06 16:02:00 UTC

Like striking militia groups, striking arms factories in Iran, etc.

2020-01-06 16:02:28 UTC

They decided fuck it and went with that

2020-01-06 16:02:29 UTC

They included striking Soleimani as a worst case to make the other options seem less extreme

2020-01-06 16:02:41 UTC

And trump was like "that one"

2020-01-06 16:02:44 UTC

Lol

2020-01-06 16:02:58 UTC

Yeah let’s just strike their arms factories

2020-01-06 16:03:11 UTC

Staffers were like "uuuuh you weren't supposed to pick that one"

2020-01-06 16:03:14 UTC

Haha

2020-01-06 16:03:20 UTC

That was funny

2020-01-06 16:03:33 UTC

Anyway, here we are

2020-01-06 16:04:49 UTC

Lesson learned for staffers, don't play politics with military strategy

2020-01-06 16:06:00 UTC

Exactly. “This one, this worse one, and this one that makes sense and would send a powerful message”

2020-01-06 16:10:12 UTC

Holy shit am I conflicted about this... On the one hand I am very pro2a and constitutional rights, but on the other hand I do have a problem with and think people like this individual who should not be allowed to have firearms. There certainly is no easy one-step solution to this... this shit causes me internal conflict! https://www.reddit.com/r/news/comments/ekp8f0/colorados_redflag_law_invoked_likely_for_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I don't see it as a 2A issue
It's a due process issue as well as a accountability one

2020-01-07 00:17:19 UTC

I don't disagree on that front either. I am most certainly not a fan of a police officer or Police department arbitrarily deciding that someone is a danger to themselves or someone else... and without an actual third-party type due process option in place it still leaves me torn. We have countless dead women and children from abusive ass wipes like this who shouldn't have been able to have a gun, but I also don't think someone should be able to claimed that someone else has a threat and that's all that's needed for someone to come in and take guns. I honestly don't know what the right answer is....
I mean what's to stop your far left leaning nut job neighbor from seeing you unload your rig after a long day at the range and claim they fear for their lives...?

2020-01-07 00:19:21 UTC

That’s why I live in the middle of no where lol

2020-01-07 00:32:12 UTC

It does have its advantages doesn't it!

2020-01-07 00:36:24 UTC

Yes it does

2020-01-07 01:22:54 UTC

It is owed to whoever is redflagged to have as expeditious evaluation as possible, and not from some anti-gun quack

2020-01-07 01:24:28 UTC

Like within the week, there needs to be three concuring diagnoses. If it doesn't happen within a week, guns are given back

2020-01-07 01:26:03 UTC

also it can only be for suspected mental disorders, not for "feeling threatened".

2020-01-07 01:26:19 UTC

If someone is threatening someone, that is a criminal case.

2020-01-07 01:27:28 UTC

If you file charges against someone for threatening you, and it turns out all they were doing was unloading some guns from their car after a range day, then that person needs to go down.

2020-01-07 02:03:49 UTC

^^^👆🏻👍🏻

2020-01-07 02:04:20 UTC

That's a pointy up finger, not a middle finger btw.

2020-01-07 02:19:31 UTC

So in VA I've heard they want to crack down on indoor shooting ranges too

2020-01-07 02:20:40 UTC

They want to pass a law where the shooting range has to be federally owned by the government, has to have mostly cops who use it, have to specifically put your address and phone number just to enter, etc

2020-01-07 02:21:32 UTC

Guns and gadgets mentions it here

2020-01-07 02:22:38 UTC

The government of the state of Va can eat my entire ass

2020-01-07 02:24:27 UTC

If all of these laws were to pass VA would be worse than california and new york

2020-01-07 02:24:52 UTC

I’ll give y’all reports from the front

2020-01-07 02:27:34 UTC

Man, we need a new country

2020-01-07 02:27:56 UTC

Careful what you wish for

2020-01-07 02:28:04 UTC

haha

2020-01-07 18:00:35 UTC
2020-01-07 18:09:42 UTC

Sweet thanks man
