ah
People stuck on /pol/ tier ideology are easier to wake up to class consciousness than most people who watch msnbc and thing society is fine
Not really into communist stuff
I'd favour something like mutualism
@quiscalus Also think left idpol is causing many of the White working class to drift right.
and indivdualism
I feel the same way about idpol alienating the white working class
Makes them reactionaries who think Marx is about forcing dudes to take HRT or some insane shit they here from idiots like Jordan peterson
I hate peterson
Agree on some stuff
Think about it, if we exclude an entire group of people from our ranks and call them scum and racists 24/7, as well demonize them in all of our publications, they won't feel welcome and thus, go to the other side.
It was a lesson I had to learn the hard way.
I think most people are turning to libertarian nowadays
Yeah the left has failed to capture the recently disenfranchised white working class by pushing idpol and allowed the right to actual appeal to their material interests
I am gun nut leftist but there are so little of us are ranks are dwarfed by the right
I just dislike how people conflate welfare capitalism with socialism all the time and people lose sight of the no electoral way towards socialism
I think ML and MLM historically have been the most effective wayss to bring about socialism in a state but I feel they have less influence here in NA than more reformist schools of thought
I had a few leftist friends a few months ago. Back then, I was an idiot and didn't see how idpol was hurting us as a movement. So I, of course, was all aboard the idpol train calling all white people racists and crap.
Anyway, one of my friends started to complain about feeling "uncomfortable" whenever he went to events with our group. I of course, like an idiot said that's "racism." This progressed over the few months with me dismissing each of his concerns as "white privilege" or some stupid shit.
One day, he finally had enough. In the middle of a meeting with my friends, he stormed out of the house. I asked him why he did that over the phone. He said, and I quote: "Because all of you hate white people." Even though I'm white myself, I didn't realize what he was getting at.
Fast forward a few months, I later find out he's moved out of our state, and got radicalized pretty quickly.
By the right, of course.
I can only blame myself tbh.
Yeah you can't get people to your side by guilt or punishment you have to appeal to their interests materially or at least emotionally
I live in one of the most liberal cities in the US and I am still a bit wary of running afoul of the idpol enforcers
Like I hang out with other leftists and go shooting but I never joined any group beyond my immediate friends
How do think most people get to left thought?
I am weird because I am not anti idpol, I think the goals are lofty but often a latter priority compared to class and often people hurt a cause by how they try to achieve those goals.
Like I have a friend that is a full Tumblr feminist that hates men pretty vocally and thinks straight men that aren't interested in trans women are transphobic, I think that's pretty insane even though I am a straight dude that has dated trans women.
Yeah as an ML I tend to stay away from that stuff and focus on class.
How do you get people to grasp what Marx is getting at when talking about the exploitation of labor that can appeal to every day working folks?
Well, since people seem to be obsessed with idpol it's tough.
Especially anti-revisionism
Like imageboards will tell you to read Marx but most people don't enjoy reading, I think you gotta convey a message that immediately appeals to the material interests of people while being jargon free and requires no real effort by the viewer
I think these flaws have largely relegated left thought to college students and kind of doesn't help the people who would benefit most from this type of analysis
Exactly. The intellectual aspect of leftism should come after the appeal to workingmen.
I am part of the working poor and work with largely convicts and immigrants who are laborers in agriculture
Quis
Most of them are really heavily influenced by capitalist propaganda so waking them up to how they are getting ripped off is hard
I live in Texas
Howdy
And your a lying faggot
About what specifically?
