If he didn't do the same things Stalin did to industrialize, the Soviets would have been wiped out by the Nazis

2018-07-18 13:03:16 UTC

even the purges?

2018-07-18 13:03:38 UTC

although you could argue that without the purged leadership and with trotsky's military expertise, they would still win WW2

2018-07-18 13:04:27 UTC

Most of the deaths from the purges were committed by Yezhov, who was conspiring with fascists to kill the leadership and cause so much hatred amongst the people that they would revolt

2018-07-18 13:04:39 UTC

Is that so

2018-07-18 13:05:17 UTC

I remember reading that a lot of advanced theory about mechanized war was lost because of the purges

2018-07-18 13:05:32 UTC

As for the Moscow trials, Tukhachevsky was in league with fascists. as was the bloc of Troskyites that Trotsky was in communication with through his son, Leon Sedov, even though Trotsky denied it for his whole life.

2018-07-18 13:05:47 UTC

Interesting

2018-07-18 13:06:25 UTC

Had those generals not been purged, the war would have been lost. They would have constituted a fascist fifth column like in so many other nations that fell to fascism.

2018-07-18 13:06:27 UTC

but tukhachevsky was interrogated by yezhov

2018-07-18 13:07:12 UTC

I mean it is hard to argue with the fact that Stalin so comprehensively destroyed the nazis

2018-07-18 13:07:20 UTC

yeah I'll give stalin credit there

2018-07-18 13:07:32 UTC

And listened to zhukov

2018-07-18 13:07:35 UTC

Archives released from Germany and Japan strongly point to his guilt.

2018-07-18 13:08:12 UTC

I think the more interesting question is what exactly were those leaders who got purged and executed thinking by collaborating with fascists

2018-07-18 13:08:40 UTC

Well for that

2018-07-18 13:08:54 UTC

You'd probably want to read about the psychology of fascism

2018-07-18 13:09:06 UTC

I reject that they were fascists

2018-07-18 13:09:11 UTC

were they genuinely fascist or just anti-stalinist?

2018-07-18 13:09:18 UTC

I think it was the latter

2018-07-18 13:09:23 UTC

I can't see how it could be the former

2018-07-18 13:09:42 UTC

so without stalin in power they most likely wouldn't have betrayed the USSR

2018-07-18 13:09:47 UTC

You know what it was? They probably thought Stalin was revisionist

2018-07-18 13:09:55 UTC

Stalin thought they were revisionist

2018-07-18 13:10:05 UTC

probably

2018-07-18 13:10:06 UTC

Everybody thinks everybody else is revisionist

2018-07-18 13:10:16 UTC

hahaha so true

2018-07-18 13:10:24 UTC

Nobody ever thinks they may be applying the principles of marxism leninism incorrectly

2018-07-18 13:10:27 UTC

you guys watch that film

2018-07-18 13:10:30 UTC

the death of stalin

2018-07-18 13:10:45 UTC

its actually funny

2018-07-18 13:11:03 UTC

no but I heard about it from the moscow times

2018-07-18 13:11:22 UTC

theres some true parts to it

2018-07-18 13:11:30 UTC

Its funny as fuck either way

2018-07-18 13:11:48 UTC

and they are very respectful to zhukov

2018-07-18 13:11:52 UTC

in the portrayal

2018-07-18 13:12:56 UTC

I don't know about Zhukov. As good of a marshal he was, he did conspire with Khruschev

2018-07-18 13:13:07 UTC

yeah against beria

2018-07-18 13:13:20 UTC

And both Stalinists and Trots hate Khruschev

2018-07-18 13:13:34 UTC

Iv never seen anything positive written about him

2018-07-18 13:14:02 UTC

But then again better that they got Beria out
