but they are cointaned in the small crate of formal logic

2018-08-03 13:45:56 UTC

And what is positivism exactly?

2018-08-03 13:47:09 UTC

its the theory created by theorists such as comte and durkheim

2018-08-03 13:47:22 UTC

What's the theory?

2018-08-03 13:47:45 UTC

its basically based on positive affirmations

2018-08-03 13:47:48 UTC

Im not familiar with Comte or Durkheim

2018-08-03 13:47:50 UTC

or formal logic

2018-08-03 13:47:54 UTC

such as

2018-08-03 13:48:03 UTC

all red crayons are red

2018-08-03 13:48:28 UTC

but the thing is that this not really apliiable to some modern socialogical principles

2018-08-03 13:48:49 UTC

including, as you would expect, the socio methabolic structure of capital

2018-08-03 13:49:09 UTC

they cant accept internal contradictions inside concepts

2018-08-03 13:49:24 UTC

thus rejecting ontology as a whole

2018-08-03 13:49:31 UTC

Contradictions like?

2018-08-03 13:49:42 UTC

they are the extreme opposite of post modernism lets say

2018-08-03 13:49:59 UTC

Like traditionalism?

2018-08-03 13:50:10 UTC

not necessarily

2018-08-03 13:50:21 UTC

Reactionaries?

2018-08-03 13:50:23 UTC

but like those richard dawkins fanboys

2018-08-03 13:50:28 UTC

and technocrats

2018-08-03 13:50:44 UTC

plus social democracy as we know it emerged from positivism

2018-08-03 13:51:03 UTC

I dont know about that now

2018-08-03 13:51:13 UTC

a good read on positivism is Engel's anti duhring

2018-08-03 13:51:33 UTC

Actually nevermind you're right

2018-08-03 13:51:45 UTC

Noted

2018-08-03 13:51:59 UTC

he is essentially criticizing a positivist theorist while explaining some dialectical materialist concepts

2018-08-03 13:52:40 UTC

What was his critiques?

2018-08-03 13:52:46 UTC

one of his most famous texts "on the origin of the family private property and the state is made from excerpts from anti duhring

2018-08-03 13:53:03 UTC

@Mr. X to the positivist views of eugen duhring

2018-08-03 13:53:20 UTC

Not familiar with him either, he's also worth noting then

2018-08-03 13:53:20 UTC

and why his critiques of marxism were fundamentally wrong

2018-08-03 13:54:05 UTC

on ontology i already reccomended heavily the ontology of the social being series

2018-08-03 13:54:12 UTC

I'll definitely need to research both of their critiques.

Also noted

2018-08-03 13:54:44 UTC

yeah its good to check eugen duhring

2018-08-03 13:55:05 UTC

although i think you will note how engels overwited him a lot

2018-08-03 13:55:05 UTC

I havent had much time to read them but I'll do so in the near future

2018-08-03 13:55:10 UTC

kk

2018-08-03 14:11:24 UTC

in fact there is a very interesting book on structuralism, positivism and neopositvism by a brazillian marxist too but i dont think it has any translations

2018-08-03 14:18:29 UTC

@Mr. X and on psychology there are lev vygotsky's works
