I mean my first rifle was a mosin. Only now years later am I actually getting my AR tricked out. The process is slow, but having something to work with first is important. The basic point is the receiver, depending if you want one stripped or want to mill out an 80% complete one. After that all the mass produced milspec stuff should work fine
