The US Army has an entire IT job field. After basic training you go to beautiful Fort Gordon, Georgia and learn about computers and IT systems

Had a few buddies in the IT field and they generally had easy jobs predeployments

I had a bunch of 25 series friends. They got out and used all the certificates they got while in to get nice cushy jobs on the outside

Lol it’s a good strategy. Looking back I should have chosen a soft skill MOS. Finding bombs was fun but I was on the struggle bus for awhile when I got out.

Yeah I get that, "things go boom" on an application doesn't sound good lol

Lol for three years it didn’t. Then I lucked into what I do now. I handle an explosives detection dog and the money is pretty good. They saw “spent 6 years looking for IEDs and shit” and called me the day after I submitted my resume
