Hey man I literally have nothing better to do lol

2019-05-14 03:55:56 UTC

And it’s fun to talk to the young guys that are about to go in

2019-05-14 03:56:30 UTC

Don’t even worry about Venezuela. If you go it will be after any sort of initial invasion has already gone down

2019-05-14 03:59:07 UTC

While I try to take comfort in that idea, who knows. It all depends on the timing of things. Assuming we invade, maybe it happens next month, or next week. But if it happens after I graduate Parris Island, then who knows man. Personally, I'm not worried about the fighting. Their military is a joke, and the worst that I'll be worried about is the Bolivarian Revolutionary militia. They're shit tier wannabes, but in my experience, shit tier wannabes are the crazier ones. Even then, what really concerns me is just the overall loss of civilian life. War is messy. It's a dirty fucking job and shit happens. If I have to fight, so be it, and may the Gods bless me in battle. But in all honesty, I would be much happier if I could just go down their and hand out food and water to people that need it.

Then join the Peace Corps or a Civil Affairs unit. War is not pretty man. After PI you still have like 5 more months of schooling to do. You have to go to ITB and then your actual MOS school. And then you have to go to your unit, get in-processed, and there’s like a solid 3 more months of training and shit before you even set foot on a plane or boat to go to a war zone. War is war, and taking human life is something not a lot of people can do. If you pick up On Killing it goes into all of that. I was your age once and idealistic. Then I saw combat and had to put rounds into people. It will change you if you’re not ready for it. The best thing for you though is to be prepared mentally. Leave politics to the politicians. Your only purpose when you’re in is to either shoot things or support the guys doing the shooting.

2019-05-14 04:08:56 UTC

Combat is no issue for me. I just wanna help people is all. And those organizations don't pay for college last time I checked

2019-05-14 04:09:28 UTC

I'll be alright

2019-05-14 04:09:41 UTC

Civil Affairs is part of USASOC and a pretty easy pipeline too. Peace Corps is garbage imo

2019-05-14 04:09:48 UTC

Tru

2019-05-14 04:09:57 UTC

2019-05-14 17:35:37 UTC

2019-05-14 17:38:58 UTC

After i get to know my shit i Will aplay for IT at US military

2019-05-14 17:39:11 UTC

Well, a job is a job. And anything that keeps you from sleeping on the streets is a win

2019-05-14 17:39:42 UTC

You know what happens when you get out? YOU END UP IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER

2019-05-14 17:40:11 UTC

The US Army has an entire IT job field. After basic training you go to beautiful Fort Gordon, Georgia and learn about computers and IT systems

2019-05-14 17:47:51 UTC

Had a few buddies in the IT field and they generally had easy jobs predeployments

2019-05-14 17:48:43 UTC

I had a bunch of 25 series friends. They got out and used all the certificates they got while in to get nice cushy jobs on the outside

2019-05-14 17:56:50 UTC

Basically what most of mine did

2019-05-14 17:57:03 UTC

Others..not so much lol

2019-05-14 17:57:49 UTC

Lol it’s a good strategy. Looking back I should have chosen a soft skill MOS. Finding bombs was fun but I was on the struggle bus for awhile when I got out.

2019-05-14 17:59:48 UTC

Yeah I get that, "things go boom" on an application doesn't sound good lol

2019-05-14 18:01:23 UTC

Lol for three years it didn’t. Then I lucked into what I do now. I handle an explosives detection dog and the money is pretty good. They saw “spent 6 years looking for IEDs and shit” and called me the day after I submitted my resume

2019-05-14 18:01:48 UTC

Good shit lol

2019-05-14 18:03:25 UTC

My situation was more of a "I gave up" shit show

2019-05-14 18:03:48 UTC

But I'm getting my life squared away now

2019-05-14 18:03:52 UTC

I’ve been there.

2019-05-14 18:04:31 UTC

It’s ok to give up for a little bit. Take a breather and figure shit out. It’s entirely different to stay in the self pity party.

2019-05-14 18:05:54 UTC

No doubt. Can't stay in the hole forever, took me a bit to realize it
