You know its bad when even Catrael & Wykisha think you're a retard.

2018-02-26 23:17:59 UTC

Looks like it's annuda shoah. Not only me.

`>using discord

Now just wait till they knock on your door.`

... For what?

2018-02-26 23:21:34 UTC

Littering.

2018-02-26 23:22:01 UTC

Those hashtags 🔥

2018-02-26 23:28:54 UTC

@hussar rocket chat is not plaintext from my experience. Looks very similar to discord.

2018-02-26 23:29:20 UTC

Plaintext = no encryption.

2018-02-26 23:29:27 UTC

Oh

2018-02-26 23:29:40 UTC

Data is stored as plain text rather than an encrypted string.

2018-02-26 23:29:50 UTC

Ahhh

2018-02-26 23:30:01 UTC

Thats surprising

2018-02-26 23:30:07 UTC

Add me on Tinder, they won't suspect a thing.

2018-02-26 23:30:08 UTC

On riot, I can add all sorts of things to prevent issues. I will let y'all know when it's up.

2018-02-26 23:33:33 UTC

Are we doing team speak for voice, in that case?

2018-02-26 23:33:43 UTC

Riot also has voice.

2018-02-26 23:34:10 UTC

Or was that question directed at Thomas?

2018-02-26 23:46:16 UTC

I'll be interested to see riot. I played around with it and struggled. Granted it wasn't long.

2018-02-26 23:46:56 UTC

I checked it out some time ago and it seemed a bit buggy and hard to use. They might have fixed it up since.

2018-02-26 23:47:27 UTC

Yeah, they have improved a great deal since I last checked.

2018-02-26 23:50:46 UTC

In terms of useability, i thought RC was more friendly, but ur right, no encryption. But we could just regularly purge channels like we do on discord. Technically all of discord is not encrypted.

2018-02-26 23:51:38 UTC

If I'm going through the effort of setting up something, I'm making sure that it is the best I can offer.

2018-02-26 23:53:12 UTC

We should just use an aol chartroom.

2018-02-26 23:53:27 UTC

56k circa 1995

2018-02-26 23:54:17 UTC

Sounds good Hussar. Looking forward to seeing it.

2018-02-26 23:54:30 UTC

PGP encrypted emails, lol.

2018-02-26 23:55:33 UTC

AIM?

2018-02-26 23:56:09 UTC

They killed it last year.

2018-02-27 00:01:06 UTC

I think this underscores the importance of having the phone number of everyone in your area, as well as a few select individuals from outside of it. This way we can create a web through which we can pass data, should we be shoahed by the Discord Jew.

2018-02-27 00:01:49 UTC

@Hussar Mass phone number collections are somewhat of a bad idea, thus the email fallback.

2018-02-27 00:02:20 UTC

We'll set up a backup forum or something similar which can serve as a fallback. No need to rush solutions.

2018-02-27 00:03:19 UTC

What we really need to do is set up a massive nation wide carrier pigeon network

2018-02-27 00:04:34 UTC

@Oliver Read the social media guidelines in <#364943265545584650> please.

2018-02-27 00:04:40 UTC

Not centralized, sure. But decentralized is in my opinion good. I.E. I get the number for all IL guys and then Jelly, Halfdan, and Charly, who each have the numbers for their guys, plus two others outside of their state. If anything happens, we can quickly disseminate information, without any one person knowing the info of everyone.

2018-02-27 00:05:15 UTC

Same concept as Peer to Peer data transfer.

2018-02-27 00:06:48 UTC

Even so, I've known folks to freak out and go nuts and start risking folks' information with little to no warning. That's how I was doxxed, btw, gave some personal info out of convenience to guys I thought wouldn't use it against me. There are times when cell #'s are useful, but in general I'd avoid it with all but the most trusted people.

For the time being, since we're not engaged in illegal activity or anything similar, and Discord does a bad job of moderating things, we've got time to set up a backup with proper functionality.

Cheap prepaid SIM cards could work. Have one guy volunteer, such as myself, and buy a bunch, then distribute them. Now you have a burner phone. My phone supports dual-SIM, so that works for me at least. But I agree, I'm just trying to suggest possible contingency plans.

2018-02-27 00:12:29 UTC

I used to be really into methods to avoid data collection and investigation, so I have picked up a few things.
