speeding would be just a few hours, you go and 'serve' the time in an empty room with nothing but yourself and your thoughts.
and I REALLY would like police to shape up and be the best drivers out there, as it stands I have seen they seem to be the worst.
MA cops are really bad, i have been cut off by them and seen them speeding in rush hour traffic, no lights either time.
I agree that fines for traffic violations are really just an unjust revenue stream and little else
once in my own state one was passing comeing towards me and didn't seem to care how close we came to hitting eachother, I know i had no intention of slowing down for him.
I have also seen police parked in VERY unsafe places for their traps.
seen them playing with their computers or on their phones while driveing also.
There is currently an option to serve jail time instead of the fine
what not pay?
You just refuse to pay and they'll put you in jail
Lol
they will put you in jail and then demand the fine and add another fine for not paying the first.
Yes, something along those lines
they don't want you to take that option though and you know it.
if you demanded that form a judge he would come down hard on you and the police and jail would make sure you NEVER took that option ever again.
these people have no accountabilty to me and I don't know that they have any to anyone other then the city they work for.
if that.
...
I want to like and trust the police, but with crap like that story posted up there, how am i able to do that?
and that's not the worst of it, I have seen speed traps all over the places, heard that story time and time again.
Depends on the judge
I have no reason to assume I would get a "good" judge, I must assume they will act in the interest of the state/city as they are agents of the state/city
And yeah, there are unfortunately a good number of bad cops out there
There are good cops as well
they don't even have to be "bad" cops to be part of this problem.
Ehh
they can just be "normal" cops and be part of this problem.
Yesish
they might not even have a real choice if they are "good" cops.
it's a problem with the rule makers and the rules themselfs, and the cops enforce those rules, good or bad.
Depends on what you consider a good cop to be
But yes, I'd say what you're describing could easily be considered the average for police
if an officer was doing what i considered 'good' in this case I don't think he would have a job, i think the city would throw him out.
because he isn't makeing them enough money or some such.
Most likely
They might not need to find out though
something needs to be done to stop law enforcement form being a income source, until that happens I'm gonna have a very hard time trusting them.
anyhow, i'm gonna head off, good night.
what? why shouldn't law enforcement earn wages?
that's rediculous
Not what he meant
