UN has a massive rape problem though tbh
Whilst I was operating under them it was known that third world UN members would often "withhold" aid, food, etc in exchange for sexual favours
Its common knowledge and I believe you can google it
And regarding HIV AIDS - how many children have been orphaned? The figures must be staggering in Africa.
Well they'd be higher if we'd stop feeding them hand over foot.
Or whatever you're suppose to say.
The global number of deaths from HIV is down almost 50% since 2005
Many people are never issued a death certificate, and post mortem's are not routinely carried out - also - there is a stygma in Africa regarding the cause of death being stated as having been due to AIDS - but, considering that they stilll have regulat outbreaks of cholera, and measles, and Tuberculosis, it really is just a shit-hole beyond compare.
That may be true, but the question is whether they've been making progress
I'd argue they certainly have
The Chinese would agree withyou there ^^
Well, everyone should agree, since it's empirically true
It's borne out in the data
They don't take vaccinations seriously
It was hard enough convincing them to take oral polio <:shrug:349342983763656705>
One after the other African despot has bent the knee, and allowed massive Chinese investment in all sectors of commerce in places like Zimbabwe, South Africa, and elsewhere..
Mazungu and their magic is their attitude <:PepeLaugh:565528391336329216>
You guys don't like taking expansive perspectives on anything, do you?
Nah mazungu= rich people or white people
Hau - mina kuluma Isizulu breh
I aint fluent, I just listened in <:PepeLaugh:565528391336329216>
It is my second language..Zulu. My third being English. Thank fuck I no longer live in Africa.
I know your speaking bantu though <:shrug:349342983763656705>
'Bantu' is a racial epiteth..jus sayin.
I don't care
@Benjamin Henry with the recent news of Ebola outbreaks.. it's not hard to be pessimistic about 'expansive perspectives'. The much needed medical compund's were set alight and sacked by the locals - go figure.
I mean, they aint wrong
But they aint right either, just taking a very insular look
I get it, that sucks. But the overall trajectory has been for the good
'Most people that voted Labour agreed with Labours Brexit Policy' How shocking, Who could have saw that coming
Bantu is the correct term for the language group isiZulu is part of. So 🤷♂️

@Benjamin Henry when the next big financial crash comes, and it will, the outlook will become progressively worse - and so much worse for the 3rd world. ..
Nah the third world by its nature is far more protected from a western banking crash
Especially Africa 🤔
The exchange rate between the ZA Rand, and the British Pound is a good indicator of how it is looking for investment and progress in African Countries.
I don't think that's proved to be the case. When I was talking about infant mortality rates, if you look at the trends, they continued to go down regardless of the global economic situation
