the main difference is their shell is a lot bigger and overall have a profile that resembles the creature it once was but if you blow their shells off they actually kinda resemble the crab men in 3 they was

2019-12-25 23:08:32 UTC

I am quite fond of this critters too

2019-12-25 23:08:54 UTC

They didn't change much for millions of years

2019-12-25 23:09:03 UTC

mirelurk hunters are giant crayfish

2019-12-25 23:09:08 UTC

And their blood is green due to being copper-based

2019-12-25 23:09:10 UTC

not even sure what mirelurk kings are

2019-12-25 23:09:36 UTC

also far harbor introduces like mirelurk hermit crabs that live in the shells of vans

2019-12-25 23:10:06 UTC

horseshoe crabs are strange yeah

2019-12-25 23:10:15 UTC

I guess if it works they dont change

2019-12-25 23:10:37 UTC

Their blood is used to make medicine to clot our blood

2019-12-25 23:11:01 UTC

good for stopping bleeding

2019-12-25 23:11:04 UTC

It is also a disinfectant in addition to being an amazing clotting agent

2019-12-25 23:11:36 UTC

The yellow stuff on those blood-stopping sponges? Horseshoe crab blood

2019-12-25 23:12:05 UTC

They are not killed in the process though. Just harvested blood, nursed and then released back

2019-12-25 23:12:24 UTC

headcrab blood

2019-12-25 23:12:55 UTC

the green stuff in the health vials in hl2 is the gunk that comes out of antlion grubs when you squish them btw

2019-12-25 23:13:03 UTC

same for combine health dispensers

2019-12-25 23:13:32 UTC

Their biology is something fascinating.
They resemble xenomorphs in how hostile their blood is to other living organisms

2019-12-25 23:14:00 UTC

Bacteria can't survive in horseshoe crab's bloodstream

2019-12-25 23:14:27 UTC

Yet their own tissues can do just fine.

2019-12-25 23:19:11 UTC

looks like someone didnt haggle for more.

I do like that you can ask for like 200 more damn crowns from the rich guy hiring you to clear out his house of a supposed haunting and he'll just go 'ok sure yeah' because he's rich

2019-12-25 23:19:39 UTC

*Always* haggle for more.

2019-12-25 23:19:57 UTC

the most I can get away with before they get annoyed is around 30~ with most of the witcher contract givers

2019-12-25 23:20:02 UTC

And if they refuse, you have a sword for that (or a savefile XD).

2019-12-25 23:20:33 UTC

the items the monster has usually is worth selling

2019-12-25 23:21:03 UTC

most of the time its an orange tier sword a blacksmith would buy for more than the contract was in a lot of the easier ones

2019-12-25 23:27:31 UTC

man tho there is like one gripe I have with witcher 3 and its that I can't use Axii(?) more in conversations to cheese the peasant folk. there's a couple times where I coulda totally hypnotise my way through a situation like during geralt's dwarf friend's quest with getting that gwent card collection to pay off a debt, I hadnt bothered to learn how to play gwent or get many gwent cards, so uh, sorry random peasant guy. I can't just hypnotise the guy with the knife on your back to drop the knife and then kick their asses

2019-12-25 23:28:22 UTC

I know the hypnotise doesnt really work well when theres multiple guys in the conversation but I also seen geralt hypnotise two guys at once

2019-12-25 23:28:33 UTC

so ree
