What do you value in life?
Interesting things?
And freedom
I value some people, but I'm highly selective about it like I said. I value them not for the fact that they are people, but for what memories I have with them
If they were droids and I never found out, would it make a difference? Probably not, so in my opinion I'm being entirely self-serving by caring about other people.
Oh so am I.
I think people are entirely self-serving by their very nature.
Yet I would attempt to do whatever in my power to help the people around me, because that is the only way I get my kicks.
Yeah, I know a few people like that
I would help some, but not even close to all
A bit of a crass way to put it but it matters to me how I act and how I seem. I want to enbody an ideal.
I mean, in my opinion the majority of help comes from within, or else it'll fail
Exceptions being infants I guess
Or in cases of illness etc.
I think teaching is very valuable.
Community does that better than instituions of learning.
Yet gives you no diploma
So is seemingly worthless in the modern economy
idk, I think people do the learning for themselves, or else they don't do it
Especially long term
I've tried to make all sorts of different people understand all sorts of different things, and the vast majority of times it fails, even when they pay me to do it
But you also need a good teacher.
Sure, the material and the teaching practice must be high quality for better learning effect, that's correct
Teaching is a matter of passing on information through instinct and emotion. Some teachers work better with some students.
I just believe teaching disproportionally increases in value if the student is motivated and actively studying
Even when the teaching isn't that great to begin with
I agree.
Lets just say both parties need to actively participate at a high level for the greatest effect
Entirely true.
oof, when did Tim say those things?
i have no chance to watch the video atm anyone willing to summarize it's contents?
Tim while in America: "Sweden is racist."
Tim while in Sweden: "Swedes are very nice people."
...followed by analysis of all things Sweden because he was there once for 8 days.
And Tim saying a grenade attack in Sweden means Sweden is a warzone... meanwhile he makes excuses for Chicago having tens of people mowed down practically daily, in drive-by shootings, often killing only bystanders (his argument was that grenades are worse than drive-bys because grenades kill indiscriminately, while in Chicago you have to be a criminal to be in danger).
But he's a good lefty and Chicago is a lefty city, with skate punks like him, so he must say Sweden is worse. Also, he praised social democrats, not understanding that the current situation in Sweden was **created by social democrats** he so loves. It's like he cannot learn anything from what he reads or experiences.
This is half of a good argument, though.
The grenade > drive-by thing
Why?
A bullet is technically a more controlled means of injuring someone, which makes the user a neutral evil, while grenades are chaotic evil.
Yet niggers in Chicago manage to kill innocents.
